By turkey bacon Go To PostIt all happened very fast but I believe I was called a cuck by some NPCI got called that by some chavs from the thieving guild.
I threw him into the lake after setting him on fire.
I straight up murdered him and his crew.
Meanwhile Gale left my camp a while ago because I ignored his ass. That's a whole subplot I'll miss out on :(

i was going to do that with gale or whatever his dumb ass name is, but man... repelling blast just too good. both of those two can suck my dick though, and not in a good way (like astarion does)

Wyll is unapologetically cringe nonstop and I can't take it lol. Its actually amazing how tiresome he is.
By DY_nasty Go To PostWyll is getting tossed in the bushes every playthroughOkay so its not just me
By C4-621 Go To PostOkay so its not just meYeah. Gale is just your typical Jaguar owner with crippling debt tbh.
Wyll is like baldur's gate's version of Ahsoka.
Even when not on the party, he still finds a way to sneak into the spotlight.
Had a meaningful moment with Karlach, there is Wyll right in view, drinking from his cup, smirking.

Only leveled up and asked Wyll to join me for his personal quest in you know where in Act 2 ... and I gotta say Karlach wasn't really missed.
Might attempt a warlock build sometime in the future.

I pressed pause on BG3 for a couple of days after putting in ~40h in 3 days to finish Act 2, getting into Act 3 with patch #2 installed would be tops.

By DY_nasty Go To PostKarlach gets lame pretty quick.2nd playthrough might be 4 characters I made lol
Its not fair how Astarion is just the best by far.
I've upped my RAM from 16 to 32 gigs and it makes a massive difference. Very little random hitching in the city and quicksaving is actually quick again.
16 gigs recommended my arse.

Starting the game.
Have settled on a Tiefling Bard. Was tempted on going Paladin for smiteing purposes, but like the idea of a bard better.

Any impressions on performance and jankiness on ps5?
Not that I expect it to be bad so early in the game

Yes yes I bought it on ps5 too stfu everyone😭
There's something incredibly satisfying when you're making a high DC roll, but see all your proficiency bonuses adding up to make it easy.
By NiceGuy Go To PostCrashed trying to connect to my Larian account, what a startIf you are in n pc, I believe the latest drivers for both Nvidia and AMD have known issues that can cause crashing while playing the game in dx11, so you may need to switch to Vulcan.
Only done the first mini combat encounter, rolled two 20s in a row 😎
Lae'zel and her race seem pretty badass, intended to not have her in my party but might change my mind. Having a constant companion from the beginning of the adventure to the end sounds kinda nice. Opening cutscenes are great.
Just clanking through the tutorial trying to learn the ropes, will restart with a character I've put more thought into once I feel ready.
Are crits basically a double damage roll with guaranteed hits, and advantage means you roll twice, using the higher roll? For some reason Lae'zel's crit had a re-roll.
Annotated custom markers on the map 🐐
On ps5, think I'm going to disable everything going automatically onto the hotbar/radial slots. It's easy enough adding stuff, so I imagine otherwise I'll end up just wasting a lot of time having to remove things first that have been automatically put in the wrong slot.
Going to take me some time to get used to having a dialogue system that doesn't tell you when you've selected an option that will end the conversation.
Would be nice if I could toggle the highlight function.

Not sure yet whether I want to play as someone who tells everyone what they want to hear, or whether to be more forceful. Get the feeling that characters will see through it and end up giving me shit if I go for the former.
Came across an early dungeon after the opening of the game. Met a pretty chill undead. Game is fantastic.
Just reached level three and can now specialise. Gone for College of Swords bard. I like the mix of spells and melee that the class offer. Was thinking if going down the College of Lore route, but just couldn't resist the chance to deal damage.
The flourishes seem very overpowered. Deal damage then add 4 to your AC? Yes please.

Yes, I believe that is correct. I needed out about the statistical impact on advantage and disadvantage in this post and the handful after it. The later posts have links to graphs and charts and shit:
By Kibner Go To PostFYI, I believe the average statistical bonus of an Advantage die roll is roughly2.53.5. I.e., the average normal roll is about 10.5 and the average roll with advantage is about1314 on a d20.
By C4-621 Go To PostBtw Lupercal yeah they buffed the shit out of Commander Zhaik lolDude is no longer a walking free sword.
I got the Legendary from the Githyanki patrol though, all good now.
I take it that I don't want to switch to dual-wielding weapons until I have some feats that work with it, and weapons with bonuses? Especially if I'm losing the bonus action after attacking by doing it.
Not sure what the maths is for it when compared to 2H weapons, and 1H weapons that can be wielded in both hands.

dual wielding can be done without feats. you just gotta understand the drawbacks - like not getting the benefits of a damage modifier for your off hand weapon, etc
You can also always equip two weapons and switch on the fly whether your are using one or both. With my Warlock I used the spell that let's you hold an enemy in place and every hit inside melee range is a crit.
Together with Misty Step means I could be anywhere in the fight in an instant. I could Eldritch Blast my way to everything, then go in close for the kill.

I've had great success with Spike Growth, especially against low to medium level hordes in tight-ish spaces and indoors, where they simply have to go through spikes to come at you. Moonrise Towers comes to mind. It covers a large enough area that no amount of jumping or dashing will do ... and those who can teleport, well, you want them to get close to your melee damage dealers anyway.
It's so satisfying watching chumps trying to get to you and getting ticked for 8 damage every couple of steps and seeing them die before they can reach you. The only downside is that it's a concentration spell, but casting Sanctuary on the provider of spikes usually takes care of that.

Act 2 down. Wew. Way bigger than it gets credit for if you really uproot everything.
I've been chugging tadpoles too lol. The abilities are too damn good.

Four? I'm basically maxed out at 12 or so. I pressured a couple of party member into taking them, then used all on me. Yolo.
yeh i bullied my squad into accepting them and then said "no they're all mine"
Although i think it's worth giving everyone Fly, so should have probably done that.

Fucking hate it when there's a game you want to sink hours into while you get to grips with it, and real life bullshit keeps interrupting after twenty minutes.
At the point where I'm going to have to abandon the practise run and do it again.

Although I don't remember Fly being present in the initial batch of available abilities, at least for my druid character. Pretty sure I had to unlock it.

I've learned it's best to postpone, dare I say wait, for the right time rather than force yourself to play in less than optimal circumstances. It's basically how I got back to actually enjoying playing videogames after a series of shitty periods where this hobby felt more like a numbing chore.
