I'm gonna be honest
Everything Gale says sounds like total bullshit and im kinda disappointed that's not his character instead. He's just Wizard Carth Onasi rather than some magical snake oil salesman

I dont fuck with humans in these games 🥱
This game makes me very happy and that's the highest compliment I could pay anything.

I ran with Shadow, Karlach & Laezel as my main comp.
Could've spread it out better but eh, gave Shadowheart the Blood of Lathander and she only had one attack. To many Legendary weapons near the end but I never found a Leggy Bow.

Only guy 100% in my squad at any time is Astarion. Pure thief build that unlocks/disarms everything with 0 need to reroll every time. Also never catches agro in fights because he's in stealth between every action due to hide being a bonus action.
Beaten the game. Masterpiece. It's long as hell, but it never got to that point with most games where I'm like 'wrap it up already,' I'm sure I missed plenty of quests but those are for multiple playthroughs ( that wont happen until theres a lack of new releases to play) but it's definitely going to be one of those games I go back and play through again and again like VTMB, Fallout NV, Dragon Age Origins and some others.
Karlach is waifu though you can tell she was added last minute. I think Astarion and Shadowheart are much bigger standouts character and side story-wise. Astarion is probably my favorite character of the year. If they ever do an expansion I hope they go with crazier party members like Yurgir or Lump the Enlightened
Urge playthrough will probably be my 3rd or 4th playthrough. Druid, Paladin, Monk, Sorcerer, and Bard playthroughs all look pretty appealing.

You guys using any mods? Just installed this contextual action bar mod and I think I'm going to install most if not all of the UI mods here:
https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/1279
I use the hide UI command a lot, but it gets rid of *everything*, even things showing up when you're holding Alt, which is annoying. This fixes that.

Not during this first run around.
Maybe once they are more mature I'll do a modded run but that's way in the future.

I want that no weight limits mod. But been too lazy to install so far.
Will install advanced sex mods

I read that mods tie to your save so it can become unplayable if you uninstall a mod mid-run for whatever reason.
Maybe it doesn't happen with every mod, but just as a precaution it's recommended to start a new character for mods.

The ones I posted don't change shit game logic wise, it's just xml UI stuff, you simply copy a folder inside the game's folder, remove it to get rid of it. It's basically windows autohide taskbar for the game's user interface overlay. Makes the whole thing look much cleaner with no functionality loss.
Don't really feel like I *need* mods for anything else. Weight hasn't been a problem, I send everything to camp, make a selling run every ten or so hours. Less and less so as I progress, since I'm finding way better stuff than what traders peddle exploring and questing.
Most of the mods I've checked out work just fine with the Steam version.

I think I'd like that mod that adds some unique NPC visual assets to those you can select when you create your character.
Sounds like the inventory system could use a fair bit of tidying up but I don't know what exactly the problems are there.

By NiceGuy Go To PostSounds like the inventory system could use a fair bit of tidying up but I don't know what exactly the problems are there. It will definitely get improved with mods, but there's really nothing egregiously wrong with it. You've got per-item and per-line multi-select, send to camp and sand to wares, an actual search bar, etc. There's a tedium that comes with inventory management of this magnitude, it's inevitable.
I guess being able to access your camp stash without physically moving there would be a nice thing to have, also more sorting options and possibly an anchor item function, so certain items (like a backpack, a potions pouch, a secondary weapon) would always be tied to a specific inventory slot and wouldn't jump around when sorting by type, weight or what have you. Yeah, that would be most welcome.
Btw, in case you don't know, you can bypass Larian's launcher by adding –skip-launcher to Steam's launch options.
Also, I might've mentioned it before, but this camera mod (it's just an .exe you run alongside the game) is really useful, even just for upping the max camera height a bit. Makes a big difference in certain environments, showcases them in their full glory.

When you get multiple floating damage numbers, is that base damage from weapon, stats and roll, and then bonus damage from modifiers?
Hoping there's a training dummy of sorts to test out whether or not the modifiers are stacking, saw someone had a build where they had about four instances of bonus damage being applied for every thrown weapon attack.
Also do the modifiers only get rolled when the base attack hits? I'm gonna spend most of the first day looking at combat logs probably 😑

Near Laezel I think ?
Normally different types of damage have separate number and color.
My bow does regular, necrotic & shock damage.
So 10 dmg (grey), 2 dmg (green), 2 dmg (purple)
First big patch is out.

They finally have animations with gnomes/dwarfs so Short King Summer is still going.

Yup looked cool.
It was a persuasion roll of 18 and I had a bonus of 8-14 on 2 die so didn't take much to pass it lol
FYI, I believe the average statistical bonus of an Advantage die roll is roughly 2.5 3.5. I.e., the average normal roll is about 10.5 and the average roll with advantage is about 13 14 on a d20.
hmm not really working out like that in the game. My Astarion as a Thief regularly rolls 20+ for lockpicking/disarming because of all the bonuses from stats/class abilities/cantrips like guidance. Only time he ever actually fails if the game rolls a 1 for a crit failure. Most of the stuff he comes across really doesn't need a dice roll because the minimum bonus is either higher or equal to the dice roll needed to succeed.

https://anydice.com is a wonderful tool for looking at various dice probabilities: https://anydice.com/program/ba
You can put in your bonuses and any other kind of roll you want to make inside there. It's real handy and presents the probabilities in a bunch of different ways.

Basically, just think of Advantage as being an additional 3 point bonus on a d20. Less on smaller dice.
