Got a legendary Longbow. Haven't had anyone use a longbow since about level 8 ¬¬
My melees have multiple ways of getting up close, and my spellcasters cast spells michaelowen.png
Maybe it'll come in handy when someone is ensnared or out of misty step uses, crossbows have just had better stats for a long, long time. Same as swords being objectively better than daggers which I found to be a bit of a shame, liked the idea of having Astorian dual-wielding daggers but it just didn't seem to make sense to stay on that path. For some reason his uncanncy dodge keeps deactivating which is pretty annoying.
Fights in the Steel Foundry basement were good fun. Love the basic little strategies like shoving allies out of detonation range. PS5 has a bit of an issue with cutscenes occuring while still showing you a loading screen.

The Gontr Mael? I spent ages looking for that in my first run, had to follow a guide for it in my second.
It's so good it's disgusting, Celestial Haste for 5 turns? Yes please!

Orin ain't shit when she hasn't got her muggy little followers buffing her. Had just about enough AoE and non-targetted pushing spells to get rid of the Sanctuaried enemies
That bow did 67 damage with one normal attack 😬
Suddenly I regret not having a ranger (bollocks to using Minsc, he's annoying and has been introduced far too late.) Multi-attacks and the close range skill must be crazy with it.
Only equipped Orin's sword, neither of the dagger's bonuses sound quite good enough

its always fun to hear how other playthroughs go
I had orin fried and in a blender. getting to her area was harder than the fight

ranger is generally just a not good class in 5e.
I stopped my first playthrough after (act 3 spoilers) Orin kidnapped Bae'zel and I couldn't be arsed with that nonsense. I remember looking it up at the time and rescuing her introduced all sorts of cut offs for existing quests and whatnot, so never bothered continuing.
Anyway, somehow Sarevok returned. Fight over in 3 turns because Karlach has 6 attacks a turn plus bloodlust elixir giving her an additional action per turn when she gets a kill. Nyrulna having AOE on throws is incredible lmao.
It's incredible how 90s hammy he is compared to the rest of the voice acting lol

Patch 7 is live just as I'm in the middle of a million games.

Maybe it will help hitcher at least.

Sounds like my December got busy. Doubt I can squeeze in another run between Astro and Dragon Age / Diablo

Take portal to House of Hope, figure out what to do with Orpheus and Laezel, kill Gortash, kill the Elder Brain, presumably round off Gale's personal quest
House of hope it the best thing in act 3 so at least you have that going for you before you finish lol
I tried to patch it and it just ran in this ridiclous validation loop for hours. Deleted it and will have to dowload it again at some point.
Did the House of Hope last night, great stuff
Got very lucky at the start and the end, persuaded Yurgir to join me on my first roll, battered the mob and a few pillars, then he started shooting hellfire all over the place and rekt everyone except Karlach and Hope, who'd already used her divine intervention. Then when he had 2hp left and Karlach had about 15 he hit her with a melee attack for no reason, which caused some return damage from some source or other and killed himself. Still don't really understand what the pillars and soul severance were doing.
Always find it a bit disappointing to finish a fight with my MC dead, but I'll take it. Just got Voss/Orpheus/Emporor, Gortash and the Absolute left now
edit: ah, he hit me with a melee attack because I'd destroyed his ability to use ranged

Would have liked to put that armour on Karlach, ain't sacrificing her ability to Frenzy though. Put the armour on my MC, gloves on Lae'zel, and the helmet doesn't seem very good so it's at the camp. 190 hours in and I'm still casting spells that interrupt my concentration on other spells without realising it beforehand.
What long-lasting active buffs do you guys use after every rest? The only one I remember to use is Longstrider.
Especially can't be bothered to switch characters into the party for their buffs and then back out again. The equipment menu goes a bit wonky as well when trying to move stuff to and from characters that aren't in the party.
Might try and steal those gloves back from Helsik, try and get Karlach's throwing distance up. How much strength do you need to throw humanoid enemies with medium/heavy armour?
