So to them he isn't an overpayment.

If one or two of their rookies work out I would say it worked. The problem is that their high picks have been ass so far (outside of Sengun who actually has also been ass by their preferred statistic, lol). I think the Rockets FO (and Ime) are hoping they can evaluate the rookies much better in an environment where actual professional basketball is being played.

Given how heavily they are leaning on RAPM, I think they actually might be willing to trade Sengun. All comments from Ime and the Rockets FO, plus how little they played him, have all indicated they think he sucks, and RAPM3 thinks he is basically a bench player at best. Pretty sure he is valued much higher than that around the league.
The Silas era was such a lost cause and much was out of his control in the tank for Wemby. But It was a glorified AAU team. In the Athletic poll he was the second coach players said they wouldn’t play for, after Thibs. They’ve got vets on the team now and a clear upgrade in a coach so 🤷🏾‍♂️
