By Sharp Go To PostI think technically the Spurs were actually worse defensively last year, but I don't know if that counts since Pop was deliberately tanking.they need to be investigated by congress. you seent it
By DY_nasty Go To Postthey need to be investigated by congress. you seent itApparently gamblers were pissed at him because he used all sorts of nonsensical lineups last year which made it pointless to bet on Spurs games.
Laugh now but when they win the play-in the next five years and match Jordan don't go crying to rodeo.
By DY_nasty Go To PostI think the Knicks would be a good fit fwiwtowns is from NJ which is NY's cousin. he will be fine.
Its just the idea of Towns surviving in NY is pure fantasy

By Koko Go To PostYikes, yeah nevermind I'm not sure who trades for him.The Wizards just traded for Jordan Poole and didn't even really get anything out of it, someone will do it for an actually good (albeit flawed) player like KAT.

I'm just having a bit of trouble coming up with that somebody.
By Koko Go To PostOh for sure, every time we think a contract is unmovable somebody out there takes it.Don't get me wrong, it's not a good contract, but there's at least a chance he'll still be very good by the end of it, and some teams have a lot of trouble attracting players of his caliber in free agency without overpaying him like that anyway. Minnesota just has to be patient and they'll be good. If anything, they are in a kind of good place here because there's a chance it could be a win win trade, since KAT is more valuable to a bunch of other teams than he is to them.

By reilo Go To PostWas gonna post it earlier but only n8 and I would've gotten the reference.
But yes it's hilarious.

Are the Phoenix Suns trying to capture the heart of 2000s purists? inefficient iso midrange jumpers all game with no spacing
how are they even gonna afford all these players?
I'm not gonna say it's necessarily wrong to do so considering their playoff success and how much they suffered from injuries this season, but it is a little funny to me that Miami is being treated as a contender who needs to just barely get over the hump when they were the eighth seed this year.

HOWEVER, they were 3 minutes away from being eliminated by Chicago and they lost to the Hawks.

Suns have a genuine issue in that KD believes in his heart of hearts that the starters playing 45 min a night is a winning formula for the regular season + playoffs, he does not give a single fuck who is on the bench on his squads. We've already seen how that looks in spurts in BK and PHX, and how it looks when one or more guys inevitably miss time or get gassed.

Miami is a team that would be genuinely frightening if they picked up a guy like Lillard, and would probably go back to the ECF easily if they just picked up Dillon Brooks. And all the same they could miss the playoffs entirely if they run it back and Jimmy misses 6 weeks. So I dunno.
Shams is catching heat from mainstream news sources (WSJ, WaPo) for his draft fuckery.
Good. Might as well get this all out in the open now before we have an actual major gambling scandal.

The WaPo statements are something.
FanDuel: Shams brings none of his news insights into his job for us.
NYT/Athletic: Shams has never picked games or encouraged people to gamble.
Genius stuff here.

Asked last year about a writer potentially working for a gambling company, the publisher of the Athletic, David Perpich, said: “We allow gambling companies to advertise on the website. As long as someone isn’t putting themselves in danger of violating journalism and independence ethics, we would be supportive of that situation.”

By diehard Go To Post*snip*Guys who stand out to me on first glance:
we took the 2 highest usage guys lol
- Brice Sensabaugh (Jazz)
- Ben Sheppard (Pacers)
- Marcus Sasser (Pistons)
- Brandin Podziemski (Warriors)
- Jordan Hawkins (Pelicans)
- Kobe Brown (Clippers)
e:
Honorable mentions:
- Jett Howard (Magic)
- Julian Strawther (Nuggets)
- Kobe Bufkin (Hawks)
- Gradey Dick (Raptors)
- Olivier-Maxence Prosper (Mavs)
Podz is great like I said. Sensabaugh is semi-objectively one of the greatest shooting prospects of all time and would have gone higher if he were good at any other aspect of basketball or didn't have health issues. And even then he didn't drop all that much.
By Pac-12 Go To PostDY's boy Nick SmithGuaranteed bust yeah, but it's a late first rounder so not a big deal. And he was good in high school so there's at least a small chance he was just injured this season.

first thoughts:
It was known the Jazz were looking to take on salary. Rudy Gay finally off the team thank you. John Collins back home.

By Sharp Go To PostI mean yeah he could go anywhere that doesn't care about winning games, but the fit in Houston is really awkward. He'd fit great on offense with Sengun and they do need spacing, but their defense would be a complete tire fire. Plus, I think they basically don't have any more picks for the next few years, so I think they do actually want to start winning sometime soon. And i'm not sure whether they're willing to give up any of their young guys for a guy like KAT, it's a little early to give up on them IMO.
Hmm? We have picks and swaps just from Brooklyn until like 2027 .

By Smokey Go To PostHmm? We have picks and swaps from Brooklyn until like 2027 .Yeah I didn't realize how many picks you have, damn. You basically just need like one and a half of your athlete projects not to bust and you're set.
I'm sitting here watching teams trade decent vets for bags of chips wondering when the Blazers are going to actually do something. That's two now - John Collins would have made a decent amount of sense for them.
what a salary dump trade. holy crap lmao. They could have gotten a FRP or something if they traded him a year ago right?
"The Jazz previously offered guard Malik Beasley and forward Jarred Vanderbilt for Collins, but have also asked for a first-round pick to be attached to the deal. The Hawks, according to these sources, declined that offer."
Jeeze if that rumor was true then the Hawks were dumb not to trade him last season
By Adam Go To PostSo is Kobe gonna be good?If I knew that, I'd be getting paid for it.

He's talent and a much better option to play the 4 than Kelly O.
By diehard Go To PostEhh, I mean that is not a good contract.

I mean, you gotta dump Kelly O after this I'd figure. Better fit next to Markannen. Pretty damned good starting 5 actually, depending on what happens with Clarkson.
The Jazz kinda have too much talent to be bad, I wonder what the move is with all of these draft assets.
