M8, it's always going to be a very valid question when someone takes a massive job.
Him not being experienced at a high level doesn't mean he'll fail, it just makes it a massive risk
Spurs will find it hard next season anyway. There's 8 really good teams in the league.
I saw a prediction video that said "Spurs could have a Chelsea-esque season next year" and predicted them to finish 9th... 1 place below where they finished this year.

By Lego Go To PostHe's a good manager, Gerrard is a passion merchant, same as he was as a playerHonestly even this is too kind to Gerrard. He’s somehow both incredibly dull and unlikeable. Even gives Lampard a fun for his money in that department.

We’ve clearly gone through managers who have been successful and won shit before, but are poor stylistic fits. Our best managerial appointments have been those who play more exciting brands of football. It’s also been shown pretty well in the rest of the league that a manager without a rich history can take a team somewhere beyond the sum of their parts if they can impart the right identity.
If you’re an Aussie (or Grecian) your path to management isn’t going to be the same as guys who have played in the top 5 leagues, so it takes him a lot longer to reach relevance than a lot of other managers, but what you will see is a series of players who brought in massively to his style and who he helped.
We’ll probably still be shit, but I’m tired of caring how successful a manager was previously. Enrique is a treble winner, but isn’t going to replicate that as Spurs. He’s not going to replicate that near anywhere else, because he had the best front three in football, maybe the best in the last 20 years.
Uncle Tones is my favourite Sunderland gaffer since fuckin'... Poyet! And the thing that links them both together? Madly underwhelmed when they were appointed.
Very few managers are genuinely safe appointments, time to move into the era of risk-taking imo.

I was underwhelmed when Spalletti was appointed. I thought he was the human embodiment of second place. Shrug.
The vast majority of managers are white men from one of like 5 European countries. With a major bias towards ex players too.
Opportunities at the top level are hard to come by and Ange has done well everywhere he's been.
This is his chance, and it's in a league where you can be sacked after 3 bad results. It'll be hard but I think you lads will like him.

To be fair, yeah, at this point Spurs have pretty much tried every manager profile aside from "no top level experience but plays good football". You're right, the other profiles haven't worked out (although that just points to the issues being fundamental in nature...which I guess we all know) so give it a shot.
I mean, everything I've read about him sounds great. I'm pretty excited to see him in the Prem, taking that job though...could kill his reputation. Feels like a manager that a mid-table Prem side wo....wait a minute...
Apparently, Leicester, Leeds and C. Palace are after Potter.

Before Ange came, Celtic were this close to appointing Eddie Howe, but refused to bring his entire staff with him, so it fell through.
Worked out well for both Celtic and Will

I remember. I remember thinking he'd be so fucking wasted up there.
Mason should get himself up there and win the treble. Or Stellini.

I think it'll probably be someone a level below that.
Porto beating Braga 2-0 in the cup final despite Braga playing for 20 minutes against 10 men.
It's depressing to think we ended behind this Braga team in the league.
I have no doubt that they will fail in the Champions League playoffs.

By Laboured Go To Postwhen ur the golden glove winner u can do anythingI'm no FF, but how is a shot with an 81% save probability a less difficult shot than a 96 or 98%?
edit: I've completely misread that second tweet 😔
As shite as De Gea is, looks to me like he has no view of the ball whatsoever until it's cleared the cluster of players, and you obviously can't set yourself for a ball you can't see. It looks bad because of how slow and skewed the shot was, but I'm not sure anyone would be calling it an error if courtois or alisson conceded it

Wonder if it's ended up pretty advantageous for an English team that's in the CL final to be in the fa cup final as well so they don't have to go two weeks without a proper match before it.
Can't remember what the schedule was for us last season. Can remember the CL final against Spurs where both teams looked rusty as fuck, though that was impacted by Kane's obvious injury and the early penalty.
