If you're a homophobe people will call you a homophobe oh nooooo.
Forget talking about people's rights actually being violated. Let's talk about people's religious rights perhaps maybe being taken away hypothetically in some way without talking about what that is specifically.
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) warned that opposition to same-sex marriage will eventually turn into a full-on assault on the teachings of the Catholic Church.
"We are at the water's edge of the argument that mainstream Christian teaching is hate speech," Rubio said in an interview with CBN News published on Tuesday. "Because today we've reached the point in our society where if you do not support same-sex marriage you are labeled a homophobe and a hater."
Rubio added that eventually the teachings of the Catholic Church will be under attack.
"After they are done going after individuals, the next step is to argue that
the teachings of mainstream Christianity, the catechism of the Catholic Church is hate speech and there's a real and present danger," Rubio continued.
Gay rights and same-sex marriage have become persistent issues among 2016 Republican presidential candidates. Virtually the entire GOP field recently sided with Indiana Gov. Mike Pence (R) in defending a controversial religious freedom law in Pence's state that would have let businesses refuse to serve gay people based on religious objections.
In April, Rubio told Fusion's Jorge Ramos that although he defines marriage as between a man and a woman, he would go to a gay or lesbian wedding of someone close to him.

Good luck thinking anything is immune from some criticism
Or realizing he could possibly be not for it and not oppressing it at the same time

What fits the definition of "not oppressing" though? Rights, like gay marriage, are one of few things in existence where it really is black and white.
I can't believe this guy is going to be the nominee for president, jesus fuck.
Can the GOP really go into 2016's election with this attitude still after they get beatdown this summer?

He's wrong, because it's not catholicism that is at fault, but those who use it to promote ignorance and hate.
At heart, the ten commandments aren't terrible rules to live by (once you get past the ones about protecting the religion).
But the same can be said for most religions and people who hide behind them as vehicles for hate speech.

What's happening this summer?
The Supreme Court judging on gay marriage (hopefully).
And Cruz and Christie are 100% unelectable.
By IWMTB19 Go To PostThe Supreme Court judging on gay marriage (hopefully).Yep. A bunch of the big money is betting on Walker, but I dunno.
And Cruz and Christie are 100% unelectable.
Really weak field. Possibly weaker than 2012.
By IWMTB19 Go To PostThe Supreme Court judging on gay marriage (hopefully).Oh yeah, that is going to happen, I thought you meant a broad beatdown on the party as a whole, not just on a single issue.
By IWMTB19 Go To PostAnd Cruz and Christie are 100% unelectable. As if that matters to them.
