Trossard was a good signing, arsenal needed a trossard equivalent signing in centre midfield and a trossard equivalent signing at centre back
By Vini.lad Go To PostI'm also not gonna disappear from this forum when my team is trash and come back when they're decent again.Senpai noticed me!
By Esch Go To PostWhoa let's respect Suen (a little). He actually logs on and watches the Parma struggle every week without fail on some horrible streaming sites. He might support 14 teams but he didn't run from the grind there
By Esch Go To PostWeird to care more about being consistent with your forum posting on a gaf spinoff no one reads than ethics in the sport and competition, don't get it personally but we all have our prioritiesIt's just that you always want to call me out. All season you kept quoting me trying to irritate me. Being here only for the good times is easy.

Sell Holding and Nketiah
Can't keep relying on back ups we know are mediocre players to raise their level

I'm realistic. Some are arrogant, others are optmistic, dreamers, deluded.
But have that in your mind: I'll never not support Arsenal. Maybe in America you change clubs, I don't know, but not here. And I'll also be here cause that pretty much the only place I can discuss Arsenal from where I live, and I love this place.

I can't really point any other team they dominate so easily. It's incredible, really. It must be their easiest fixture in the league, guaranteed 3 points.
By bud Go To Postoh he's brazilian, thats why I could understand his spanish so well hahah
@inkeh
lad
Do think we've lost a bit in attack since benching Trossard and starting Jesus. I think for the next game we need to be starting Trossard.
We fucked up, but just got to be there ready to pounce if City fuck up.
Keep your heads up Arsenal lads.

They are playing every three days for the next month. It can happen, but man I am just pissed we fumbled west Ham and Southampton
I love Jesus but I think we need to have a striker option that's actually a threat in the box, Nketiah and Balogun aren't going to be it

Nketiah is our Origi, couple of big moments but not consistent enough. But yea we need a new no.9, the question is who?

I really like Calvert-Lewin but his injury record is not good... If fit, he could be great for us. He wouldnt be too expensive I think.

If we don’t win the league then it is 100% on us. I would addd the Liverpool game as well. That is 6 points we should have in the bag.
Balogun should be getting his chance next season.

If I'm being really honest. I have been thinking about it for a little while now (since the WC) that we havemt really been able to effectively play our football across 90 minutes for much of the season. We have these peaks and spurts but in thinking about all the opponents we could have flattened but didn't. And then all the times we had to hang on to leads with 8-1-1 Moyesball blocks. We aren't quite at that level yet in terms of squad quality, tactics, or player performance. I can see why Arteta said the project arrived at phase 3/5 early and why the January transfer window went the way it did. We go again
Think the home game against City was a killer as well, though it's largely forgotten because they had a stumble soon afterwards. When you're competing against a team for the title you can't be losing 6 points to them. Especially when everyone knows City are well capable of winning 12+ games in a row, so that gap needed to be pretty much unbridgable. Like the eight point lead we had against them in 18/19 it was never as big as it seemed because they had a game in hand and the Etihad match to come.
Think it'd be idiotic not to give Balogun a chance at some point, he's young and by all accounts tearing up the French league. At some point Jesus' lack of goals may well become an issue, all it takes is for one of the wide forwards to have a bit of a barren spell and you won't give much of a shit about the good work your striker is doing outside the box.
Wonder if there's any difference between the caliber of player we'll be able to attract between ending up 5th on a good run of form, and just crawling to an 8th place finish.

To think we beat Lester home and away (they only lost 3 games all season) and still ended like 10 points behind them in the end.
What a capitulation that season was. That United game, jesus christ. And I called it here, all United fans called me up saying I was crazy, we managed to lose to a basically youth cup squad and then it went all downhill from there.

Problem is trying to rely on him as Jesus main backup. And it's also tough to have him and a more experienced player in front of him and behind Jesus. It didnt work this season.
I want Balogun to succeed here because he's playing for 🇺🇲 but I'm gonna be real with what I see. For one is the french league (lacazette top scorer right now). The other is the eye test. He only scores 1 or 2 types of goals. A lot of penalties. Most of them on the counter, what's he looking like in this system against set premier league defenses and blocks. His holdup and linkup play are not elite (not saying he can't be coached). And his technique generally is limited... On top of that he wants to be a starter guaranteed. Nketiah is better than him right now NGL. I'll probably get roasted for saying that but it's true
I haven't actually ever seen him tbh, only heard people talk about him on podcasts and glanced at his goalscoring record. If Lacazette is top scorer you can basically discount all of that.
He can definitely be developed further but the transfer guys are all saying he wants to be guaranteed starter or bounce and idk we can give that to him as a 21yo. I'm in favor of selling while stonks are high.
Priority is buying a good back up cb imo
I didnt think losing Saliba would be as disastrous as it has been tbf. Holding is bad, but man, we died. Holding makes Gabriel look awful. We will probably have to loan that Polish kid we signed too I think.
Also priority is the center midfiled position. Our big investments have to be on those areas imo. We already have good players up front.

Probably still salty over the time Foden turned him on the half way line, ran the length of the pitch and scored.
