Some reports came out yesterday that Sergio Conceição is thinking of leaving Porto during this international break.
Things started to get sour after the game against Inter where Conceição complained of a lack of appreciation of his work, that 30% of his squad came from Porto's B team and 40% from mediocre teams, that Porto has been selling their best players without replacing them for the past 5 years due to financial fair play and he doesn't get the recognition he deserves for what he has done.
Pinto da Costa, Porto's long time president, replied that it wasn't true that there hadn't been any investment, that this season they paid 10M€ for Veron, 10M€ for Gruijic, 20M€ for David Carmo and others.
While Pinto da Costa is kind of right, it's clear that Porto is a lot weaker than their were last season. And things are not looking good for the future.
10M€ in losses for the first 6 months of the season (a big reason for that is the fact that Porto spends in wages for the board members twice of what Benfica and Sporting spend put together) , it's been reported that they need to make 50M€ in profit until the end of the season, Porto will have to sell this summer.
Diogo Costa is probably the most likely target for European clubs, a quality goalkeeper that's still very young. Pepê could also gather a bit of interest, he's been very good for Porto. There are a few other players that Porto might have missed the window to sell them for the best price.
Otavio is 28 years old on a high wage and Porto only get 67.5% of his transfer, Taremi is turning 31 in the summer and not having as good as season as before, Uribe doesn't seem likely to renew and will be out of contract in 3 months (something that has been happening an alarming amount of times at Porto).
Porto have a lot of work to do, the backline is aging with a 40 year old Pepe and 35 year old Marcano as still their best players but Pepe is getting a lot of injuries. The squad needs adjustments in almost every position and I am not sure if Conceição is willing to do that again.
Conceição and the board are now on a meeting but I wouldn't be shocked if this Conceição's last season at Porto. He is very appreciated in Seria A.

By Laboured Go To PostAlso isn't Carmo fucking shit?He looked great for Braga but never worth the 20M€ Porto paid for him, that's almost what we paid for St. Juste and Diomandé.
He started pretty much every game in September and October but then just vanished from the team becoming the 4th center back option after Pepe, Marcano and Fabio Cardoso.
By Scum Go To PostSounds like lolspurs seeping in at Porto. Bring me Costa, Martins.Would be a decent choice for Spurs.

Used to love this shit as a kid/teenager. Imagine the soccerette section these days, bunch of 40 year olds shouting GREAT AGE when she says she's 19. The fume.
Ozil had a great career but you can't help but feel it could've been even better if he had wanted
And if we had gotten a better striker in 15/16, fuck Giroud

lots of word.
By Hentai Samurai Go To Postyou're falling for the baitThere's been a very public exchange of words. Things are getting worse at Porto, fans are turning against the SAD and the next season is probably going to be a rough one, I wouldn't be shocked if Conceição would want to leave.
In January of last year, Porto were hours away of facing an European ban. If Diaz hadn't been sold on deadline and Liverpool hadn't paid 9M€ upfront, Porto would be fucked.
Their team needs a lot of improvement but they will have to sell before. Benfica are very strong right now and Sporting is improving, our backline is looking solid and we have a few youngsters on the brink of the first team.
Porto's backline is embarrassing.
Starting next season, Portugal will only have 2 Champions League places. Porto have a big wage bill and they've been on the brink of failing financial fair play almost every season. They made two very expensive signings that failed this season, Carmo for 20M€ and Veron for 10M€.
The way things are going, they can't afford to make those kind of mistakes and missing the Champions League would be tragic for them.

he's never gonna find any other league where his team has the refs and their board in his pocket or under threats
he's not stupid. as soon as he leaves he's gonna be exposed.

Ox is still young enough that he'll definitely get signed by a newly promoted side or something along those lines.
Muani is gonna cost some team a shitload in the summer. Bayern would be smart to steal him but I am sure other big clubs will be in the market.
