Basketball has too much variance for a talented, well-coached team like Dallas not to take some games. Especially with so many "tough shot makers" like Marion, Dirk, Monta, and Vince. You can play perfect, and then they'll still make a decent percentage; thats what those guys are capable of.

Mavericks would beat every team in the East except the Heat. Discrediting the Spurs based on playing their in-state rival closely after nearly everything went well for the Mavs until the last game (Vince fucking Carter did work) seems silly.
