They just spent £600m on players. They absolutely should think that or what the actual fuck are they doing?
I don't see how Chelsea could possibly get two more years of spending like this? They're banking on other clubs also buying the players they don't want anymore and being able to afford it.

It's crazy how the human mind can forget things and remember things. And sometimes forget something but only need a reminder to remember
Prior to signing Fernandez (and probably a couple of others who I've forgotten), SwissRamble estimated that Chelsea would have a £20m buffer before they were hit by FFP. That also depended on CL qualification. The extra costs of wages and transfer amortization are probably +30m, while the loss of CL would be ~80m in revenue.
I can't see anyway they're able to make the accounts work without winning the CL, or selling their most valuable players like James.

Which is more strict but also has far less implications, if they run foul of that it'll only be a fine from what they (Swiss Ramble) said

Surely, the huge transfer spend last summer and this January will take Chelsea over the limit? Well, I’ve estimated a £166m loss for 2022/23, which would mean £207m losses over the monitoring period.
However, even with this substantial deficit, Chelsea would still be fine under the Premier League’s P&S rules, thanks to the various allowances, though their margin of safety would fall to £21m.
Chelsea are 10 points off 4th with 18 games left
Im convinced this spending is fuelled by the belief that they'll sneak in

Can’t believe chelski gave us all that money for that buffoon 😂 if only his pea brain was in line with his feet
Do they realize that at some point clubs will get sick of their ‘get in the player’s head before talking with the club’ MO?
This is too funny 😂😂

So happy to see the club spending big and getting the players they want. The only trepidation I have is that the vast majority of players we have signed going back something like 5 or 6 years have been absolute shit and if that trend continues those 7 year contracts could become massive burdens.

FFFSS 💀💀
It’s probably relevant to say the Portuguese league is really bad and this season is one of the worst in recent memory. Benfica is the only healthy and wealthy club at the top, and they will run through almost every team like a hot knife through butter.
Enzo is a good young player but it’s hard to guess just how well he will do in the PL at Chelsea.
