Catching up on NFL highlights and what, did I hear that right. Wonder why they used his name for it; nr1 car always finishing first and snap count on 1 or change to play nr1. Full sending it, other team sending all in blitz. Fun fact, opposing team is the one Lewis invested in :)
RaceWeek: Almost done lads, just one more R23 and the final race in Abu Dhabi.
Track since change has put a bit more stress on front side of the car, so instead of 25 secs it might be a + 10 sec win for Max. Think the race behind him might be close between;
- Ferrari quickest in Q, Race bit more deg than others so beating Merc for p2 in WCC they need to nail the set-up
- McLaren, track should suit them bit better so back for podium fight
- Mercedes, Q might be behind those two, but race (specially now more front tire stress) might come to them, if track is hot enough at night.
- Aston need super Fernando if they want to have fight with McLaren
- Alfa Tauri might be back fighting with Alpine for best of rest, need few points more than that if they want to catch Williams.

Standings before final race:
By Perfect Blue Go To PostSaw lads on r/formula1 speculating about Max getting to 100 wins in the next two seasons. If you simply double the last two years, you might think so but I cannot see the others not catch up to them with the current rule set, at least a little.
- Aero/CDF penalties do hurt best performers, for example I think McLaren was 5/6th last time the new allowances were set. So that is a lot of extra free development options for them and Merc/Fer also have more time than RBR.
- Last time we had ground effect rules, after few years a lot of teams were in a similar performance range and you had 6 teams fighting for wins. Having said that, modern floors are more complex and tools and knowledge is on another level, but you cannot just keep bolting extra aero on your car (floor pushed down, purposing). So unless it becomes an aero efficiency battle with a lot of playroom still left, sooner or later they will end up being closer together (floor = limit)
What could make it happen is if that gap is still to big, RBR did hold back this year due to budgetcap penalty and at the start of the new season they are still 6/7 tenths ahead. Do feel if that happens RBR will go for someone better than Sergio in '25 and that might hurt Max his wins nr. at least a little.
But for the love of this sport, please don't let it happen. It would be a very long time before the '26 new rule reset
FP1:
And McLaren doing the logical thing, do not see a real alternative that is not a gamble on the future (RBRP/AUDI) right now.

Due to two red flags (2nd Hulk T1) we lost more than 40 mins running, so no time for longruns just few laps on meds/reds. Don't think Max was very happy with set-up (bouncing/understeer), so work to do for RBR, but that might be the case around the grid tonight as we saw more bouncing/bottoming.

FP3:
Strange session as in two groups of run plans. Some Ferrari/RBR/Lewis/Aston did some longruns in the middle and end session quick lap. George, McLaren, Williams,Alpine did no long run and quick lap 15 mins earlier. All those that did that were a lot quicker than those that did their runs in the end, maybe conditions (wind gusty picked up) played a roll in that.
RBR still not happy and if they and others cannot sort out their problems it could well be a close fight for pole with 4 teams in it.

Williams are really gonna give another year to that shithouse of a driver?

By FortuneFaded Go To PostMercedes slow.
By FortuneFaded Go To Post.in Lewis his hands yes
But nice off him with Carlos out in q1 to keep battle with Ferrari fair, always a gentlemen
Rather scarily, I think that if Russell wasn't ever so slightly in Max's way that Max would have been ever quicker
Yuki also top, AT should have started with this car, goes a lot better.
Lando needs to minimize errors, to often in q3
Sergio and Pierre both tracklimits.
Oscar might get in probs for not paying attention to Pierre, to close for comfort
