RBR needed the hard tire, or extra grip on track as Charles was faster (tire deg) on meds.

Do think Russell’s fault for sure but 5 second penalty seems harsh to cost him that many places when max 5 second pen costs nothing.

It wasn't as Checo said after the race he didn't expect Leclerc to be there. He said he was like 7 tenths ahead before the corner and never expected Leclerc to make a move for it. All he had to do was defend the inside to make sure Leclerc would have to go around the outside. Considering Checo was in the faster car I doubt Leclerc would have made it around the outside.

But do hope they come up with something over the winter so the choice (take 5 sec) isn't so easy for teams. Maybe give teams a lap to react and check, if they do not give back and was clear error by the driver, make it 10 secs (or forced pos back plus 5 secs pen). Feel that it would save the stewards a lot of time.
Standings:
Says a lot about year that Sergio with so many poor drives ends up 2nd. Was lucky that there was no clear 2nd best team and those drivers split the points race by race. There is still a close battle for p4, but who really cares
Teams at leat fun between Mercedes and Ferrari, as would not call either of them favourite going in to last race. Gaps between back teams think to big for chances, unless crazy race with few cars dropping out in the front.
