RaceWeek: R12 Hungarian GP in Budapest
Its a slow-medium speed corner track, in the mid of a 30 deg Summer so if dry Saturday/Sunday
Would say F 1.5 closer (more teams) than Silverstone in Q, Sunday hot and tire wear will come in to play. With these cars bit more chance of overtaking than before, could be fun, after Max of course.
- Sergio, Q1 on hards and there might be few drops of rain, RBR updates enough to help Sergio or 6 in a row?
- Ferrari should suit them better, but how will tire wear be on Sunday
- Mercedes, track should suit them better, if it wasn't for traction out of slower speed (left rear temp on Sunday)
- Aston, back to early season business , but do they have Q pace
- McLaren, McLaren, biggest question mark for me. No nice track temp and high speed corners, so really curious to see how their upgrade will do here, specially on Sunday (tire wear)
- And why not Alpine, did well on low/med speed track earlier on in season, can they be a point scoring surprise again?
- can DannyRic beat Yuki?
Some thunder storms in area, but mainly on Friday afternoon and maybe few drops on Saturday, Sunday right now looks sunny 30+ hot.

How do people watch the races? I’m tempted to shell out for the F1 subscription and watch that alongside another service.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostHow do people watch the races? I’m tempted to shell out for the F1 subscription and watch that alongside another service. It really depends on the country and what's available. But if F1Tv is available, it is most of the times definitely not the worst deal around.
Do miss my 4K footage, but with the way VIAPlay is doing, that might sort it self out soon hopefully.
Cheers bro
Might have to sub to it and run it on my laptop or iPad as a second screen. I currently watch it using my dad’s TSN account on my TV, the broadcaster here in Canada for F1. It’s more or less fine but they run commercial breaks during the race and it drives me nuts.

Been using F1TV for a few years apartment from having to turn commentary over to sky sports everytime it has been really great.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostCheers broF1Tv is multiple devices simultaneously as well, so race and onboard favourite driver same time np. And it also gives you the full timing app, if that's needed. First year was bit dodgy, but have not run in to problems with it in the last two years.

but before you pay, check if available in your country. UK for example, it is not, due to Sky.

FP1:
it was dry for few laps, but Sergio had other ideas, so only runs on inters for about 1/2 field.

FP2:
different session to the usual running, due to rain FP1 and different Q session rules (hardQ1-medQ2-softQ3). So some teams used one set, Mercedes med/Max red, others double medium (Alfa) and others started session on meds and did quick run on reds after (top 6) and Williams soft in to med. Most did quick 2nd run, Alfa/Williams/Sergio on meds....Max and Mercedes did not
So best to compare some longer runs and Lando did look really good on meds!! (ran in to traffic close to end stint, Oscar needed to replace floor, less running), Alpines bit more drop off and Fernando bit slower start, but steady. Lewis had slower start and drop of, so work to do for Merc.
Max and Ferrari did similar run on reds in the end and seeing how easily Max was catching Carlos and backed off again and caught him again, it still looks like a race behind Max. Charles started quicker, but had a quick big drop off (overheating tires?)

By Shanks D Zoro Go To Post@Linus, hope you and your mates have a great weekend.
Cheers mate! It’s been good so far. We arrived here on tuesday. Biggest downside was waiting for a cab for an hour while rain was poring down on us. But other than that it’s been great here. We have tickets for the silver 5 stand and the view is really good. We’re on row 10 so also pretty high up.
And well, budapest is simply lovely. Been to a couple of ruin bars as per usual. Also ended up at the hotsy totsy. A really good cocktail bar. These guys absolutely love their craft. About to head into budapest nightlife again now.
You know the score. You gotta get on tv with Barbara Palvin no matter what the cost.

FP3:
Due to new Q, all teams trying out different things, on different tires.
RBR/Fer long run med, Max lot faster. Single lap, feel like it is gonna be Monaco close. Teams still have some time to fine tune, but right now between Merc/RBR/McLaren (Lando did his fastest lap on meds) and Ferrari just behind. But the gaps are al;ways so close here, that the guy managing the extreme tire heat over the entire lap will be on pole .
Feel race will be another RBR one, as they manage rear tire heat better than the others. But hopefully no RBR on pole so we at least get a fight early on.
Great banner Linius
