Hope everyone in the region is ok, after already gone through this few weeks back.
Shame for the event, do like the track even tough racing is kind of limited to DRS long enough or not in to T1. Will have impact on all those teams bringing updates and now have to use them in Monaco for the 1st time :oopsy:

I've been reading Adrian Newey's book How To Build A Car and it is fascinating stuff. The chapters on the Williams that Senna drove were particularly enthralling.
so Honda, leaving and cutting ties with your best option. Then changing your mind and having to rebuild up everything again slightly later than the other manufactures.
But nice for them to be back and good for Aston, wonder if "mister GP2 engine" will still be there in '26

RaceWeek - R7 Monaco Grand Prix
Seeing this race is mostly won on Saturday (race pace does not matter) and does not have a lot of straights and high-speed corners, rest of the field might just feel this is their chance to beat RBR. Having said that, first time all teams will run max downforce set-ups, so lets wait and see how that performance ranks.
But if Charles can beat the "Leclerc Monaco curse", Ferrari Q pace looks good enough for a win chance. Fernando knows biggest weakness of AMR is drag and does not matter here, so he must think this is his best chance. What can the new Merc do, do need better tire warm-up to be contender for pole, so they want track as hot as possible (saturday looks dry right now), or is the RBR19 in high-downforce still a monster and is Max motivated after what Sergio pulled last year and Sergio probably feels he has to beat Max here if he wants to dream.
Do hope Hulk keeps it out of the wall and than curious if he can pull of something silly, rest no clue but looking how close it has been so far, someone over driving it in Q1/2/3 looks like a solid bet.
Hopefully I can just watch the q session, family weekend planned as race is boring anyway........and of course this year chance for thunderstorms. Would be great for at least some action on Sunday.

FP1:
Those on top that did not complain about their car, would summarize this session.
- Ferrari no complaints, double mediums (rest hard-med) en Charles bit more cautious than normal I would say.
- Alonso no complaints and there or there about on all free runs
- Lewis fastest lap 1st push med, no improvement after, strange as others did. George no confidence in rear-end of the car.
- RBR to low ride-height or something in dampers/suspension not right, drivers complaining after 1st lap and set-up fixes that did not seam to fix the main issue.
Haas lads pushing early on and quick, but Nico hit barrier exit chicane on meds
Last red flag was becasue Albon hit barrier exit turn one and last 4 mins session stopped
F2: another leclerc inchident, runs in the fam.

FP2:
No complaints from RBR drivers, so I assume what they did to suspension worked and looks warm enough to get temps quick enough in tires.
Ferrari close enough to go for it in Q, Carlos looked better than Charles up until, see above. Still feel Charles after the last two Q sessions keeps some margin, will see tomorrow.
Fernando also close enough and wise enough to know to only push to the absolute in Q3, unless some others today.
Others today look few tenths to far away from top, but lets wait what they can find over night.
Lando and Valteri best of rest, McLaren really fast in S3
.
Fernando drift:

FP3:
due to Magnussen stop and Lewis in barrier, hardly anyone did final q lap preps, so timing list mixed because of it.
RBR instantly on the pace, did not do 2nd push laps. Ferrari lowered their car and pushed it to far, same complaints Max had in FP1, so they need to switch back to yesterdays set-up. Fernando no 2nd push lap, but Lance did so Fernando will be there. Merc still looked bit of and think it is just a step to far to compete for pole.
Pierre and Lando did 2nd push laps, but hard to read were others are due to all the VSC/early red flag.
Biggest issue will be tire warm-up, RBR for example tried double warm-up laps and team that gets that right might be the one on pole.
Lewis oopsy:
Lewis was flying today
think there were few sweaty hands in garage
