By Vini.lad Go To PostI like this new sprint format. Think it makes the real qualify important again, as it should, and it brings us more real competition to the whole event. Also it will make the sprint race more forgiving in case of any mistakes, which will probably mean more drama and fighting there.7 am Ozzie start absolutely wrecked me for two days. Never again.
The time of the sprint shootout tho. 6:30 am to me, on the weekend which are the only days of the week that I can sleep a little more.
Not a fan of sprint races and doubt I ever will be. The way it is structured now the Saturday is just one big spoiler 8 out of 10 times for the main event on Sunday (no changes allowed on cars) and I like my movies spoiler free. Glad it does not have any meaning for the grid order on Sunday, so improvement, but doubt we will see more action. As damage is still costly, few points and 2/5 of the field is driving around for nothing, but doubt success or not will influence Liberties opinion it.
We already go up to 25 races, with a Summer & Winter brake, that is for me already to much. It makes each race less meaningful as there is always a new one around, unless you have '21 like mega fight. Seeing that Liberty want a meaningful session on the Friday for social engagement reason, six will soon be 10/12/16/etc. , it is just to many races and it all feels diluted.
Just let the Friday be for teams and fans on track (cheaper tickets) and I will enjoy the Q on Saturday and GP on Sunday.

By JesalR Go To PostPractice chewing through cars alreadyGreat during a Sprint weekend, not. Want to see the cars compete at their best, not teams falling back because of issues in the one FP session.
Lewis lucky, brake problem, rest now isn't running. Longruns you can forget in the end due to time loss of the red. Can they replace Gasly pu in short time?

FP1:
- Top 6 on reds, lot of teams only used one set (med/hard) to save for double Q sessions this race.
- Ferrari heats up tires a lot better than RBR, if so in Q and Charles can pull gap in S1, might be a pole contender.
- RBR slower with warm-up, Max best times on both tire runs in 3rd lap. Sergio was quicker in the first two lap runs, so bit of understeer early on? Might be prob for Q not so for the race as Speed is top.
- Aston no run on reds, Fernando just quicker than Lewis (2 tenths)
- Merc (also McLaren) big rearwing and lot of drag, would guess to protect rears but sitting duck on long straight (see image)
- Lando also did run on reds and not to far of, hope it is due to new floor so they can start moving upwards.

Bit unlucky that. Can’t see how you can really fly into that apex normally with the Ferrari parking it on the inside.
Brutal red flag for Yuki. If drivers respected double yellows probably could have held the red flag for a bit
By FootbalIFan Go To PostHow many hours until the race5 hours after the start of this spring qualifying
Oopsy Charles, Carlos no improvement
Sergio 2 good laps, Max bad 1st run
George better than yesterday and Albon in front of Astons

Bit of extra temp and lap times drop massively, almost 1.5 secs slower

Ocon will start from pitlane, Logan redraw car for Sprint.
late F2 restart chaos
By KP Go To PostVictor Martins is very fast but does appear to like binning itLike so many in the Jr series, learning on the job.
Think Hauger also binned it last year same position and track, add him to the list.
