What I really liked about this episode is how it was fully dedicated to Bill and the backstory but they still found a way to connect it to modern day.

The ep last night when Frank said he knows there was no girl reminded me when one of my closest friends in HS came out to me and his brother who was also one of my best friends, he was shocked when we both were like "Nigga we know". He asked how could we tell cause he was sort of like Bill in that he was masculine without a lot of tells to the outside world but to us we could tell, he loved Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Ashanti, Mariah Carrey.......but not cause he wanted to fuck them, he also liked to come up with his own Tyler Perry style plays and had a bunch of female friends that he never ever had any type of interest in, even though he'd say who was pretty and who wasnt.
That was great. The moment On The Nature Of Daylight started playing I knew that it was going to hit hard.

I'm honestly baffled because I felt this episode works even better if you played the game. It makes totally sense to reduce "action setpieces" and concentrate on the character drama. You don't need Bill running by Joel's side. And considering the show get's even darker in some instances (the episodes starts off with a mass grave of uninfected for christ sake!) it should be preferable to have a lighter tone and a bittersweet end for Bill.
