By Perfect Blue Go To PostTherapist told me taking up hobbies and finding new stuff to do is super important for mental health. Taking a class on printmaking starting Friday and Iβm quite excited. Never remotely artistically inclined but I enjoy photography and have been doing it for the past decade, so thatβs something. Should be neat lads.
If you're so inclined and have some countryside where you live, cycling fucking rocks for mental health.
By Kidjr Go To PostDXB should be number one on that city ranking list. Safest place I've ever been . Driver left the keys to our car while we went shopping in some block of flats.*except if you're a woman
I'm too lazy to do any of that but gaming really helps me
And animals! The strays around my place are so fat now π

Itβs a dream to move out somewhere like that fr

Its super safe, amazing infra, great shopping, OK food, beaches, a million and one things for kids to do, a nice mish mash of cultures, good schools.
Putting aside all the other aspects of Dubai.. the 5 straight months of temperatures above 100 degrees with miserable humidity would make it unlivable to me.
I'm willing to admit I'm a wimp.

I also dislike Vegas so I imagine Dubai would be a no-go for me.
I also enjoy cities with a rich history and diverse architecture and given everything in Dubai is newer and quite ugly, it'd be of no interest.
Maybe a very simple way of looking at it but why don't the gays and Dubai government work together to stop homophobia?
I just read a comment in YouTube that included the phrase "I wrote a paper on it in collage" and now I want to return my degree.

I liked both Vegas and Dubai but I can't imagine living there, I'd lose what little I have remaining of my soul, and the humidity in Dubai was insufferable. Bad hair day everyday fuck that

One of the best things I did during the pandemic is invest my time in truly learning how to play guitar. It became such a good change of pace and stress reliever especially during some very difficult periods at work. Once I dedicated a decent amount of time to it, it gave me agency and a sort of fulfillment that I couldn't get from a 9-5.
I tried adding other hobbies but at this point there just isn't enough time, unfortunately.

Dubai is meh, went once as a teen and I didn't like it. Boring and artificial.
Preach brother. Guitar is life.

I agree. I don't suffer from depression but I do find playing guitar is the ultimate way to relieve stress and anxiety. It can be exhilarating and satisfying but you can also completely lose yourself in a way that feels like meditating. I have a relative who works as a music therapist mainly helping disabled people

When the main selling point of a place is it's wealth, it can get in the bin. Maybe if I actually went I'd discover a sense of culture and history, but from the outside places like Dubai, Doha and Monaco look like the last first-world cities on the planet that I'd want to visit.

Dubai, just, yea, nah.

By that measure Fender is already dead.
These days I'm just happy with a quick road trip to a little spot by the coast or in the mountains during a time where it won't be crazy busy so I can avoid lines and tourists during my vacation and just chill with nature and some true quiet.
