Ice, stay off your feet and stretch when you can.
Everyone always trying to get me to drink cause they think it would be funny to see me drunk or some shit and I always explain the same way. I have low moderation control if I like something and I don't know how to savor/sip beverages, it's a terrible combination. Plus, I'm not even suicidal but I know that hating ass intrusive thoughts been waiting it's entire career to get me in the ring and I been ducking. It's been sending me prison kites my whole life telling me it better not get out. You say you don't drink and people think you're doing it for some moral reason, nah I don't because I'd probably drink myself to death or step out in front of a bus if I did. I thought about it when my grandmother died but decided not to.

It is good that you know yourself like that.
Fucked up that people want to see you drunk.
I love drinking but never wanted to see myself or friends drunk.
Get rid.
I never drank until a few years ago and everyone always wanted me to drink. I can never explain why. Not like they got black out drunk and i was a party pooper or something. Now i get a glass of wine or a cocktail and nobody says anything anymore.
I dont drink.
Once had a job where the team spiked my orange juice with a shit ton of vodka. Everyone thought it was hilarious at the time.
Drinkers get weird when they find out you don't drink, like you're hiding something or worse yet, that you think you're better than them.

circus. that's way fucked up.
non-drinkers just get asked once if they drink or not, if they don't then that's it.
I always limit how much I drink, never gotten beyond buzzed. I have a happy phase initially when I drink and then a depression phase and I don't wanna ever find out what's beyond that.

I can do moderation with drinks, but I don't like losing control of myself and am afraid of things I would do if I got drunk while in the wrong headspace.

It was a quick flip for me from "oh that was fun" to "this is my life now."
I just get sleepy af when I get too drunk and then don't engage with people anymore. I kind of go inwards but don't think I ever get too down.
I understand why some people don't want to drink beyond a glass or so, too. The physical effects as you get older suck.

I love the buzzed feel but it's a gentle tipping point from buzzed to drunken fool.
Have cut back a lot and I usually quit now when buzzed and switch to 0% Beers.

Yeah that's pretty much me too these days. I just want to chill and listen to music rather than socialise and be loud.
Sip on whiskey or wine ā¦ beer less and less as I age. Never drink passed a light buzz now and even then only on like a sat night lol
By Laboured Go To PostYeah that's pretty much me too these days. I just want to chill and listen to music rather than socialise and be loud.Over the years I definitely prefer a friend group that would rather chill at a single bar / lounge where you can still converse. We had a person in a friend group back in SF that couldn't stay still at a single place for more than 30 minutes so they kept dragging us from stop to stop until eventually we end up at the same shitty club. The rest of the group hated that so we eventually stopped inviting them cause we'd all just not get too drunk and chill and talk.
The sooner you can figure out your drink of choice, and the amount you can conformably consume it, the better.
It's those specials when you go out that can get you though. $2 Newcastle drafts on match days add up if you're there for five or seven hours. How have I been served 10 pints on the same tab and it's only three in the afternoon?!

Everyone is like ābooze makes me chill and tiredā and Iām like yeah thatās why lounges exist. We olds grew out of clubs and like good food and drinks and not yager and red bull
Yeah I'll just nurse a good whiskey or old fashioned or something with a pile of really good fries so I don't have to move most of the night.
Honestly Iāve stopped ordering alcohol when Iām out. Especially at restaurants a cocktail or two and you really feel it on the bill at the end, shit is nuts. At a bar Iāll just have a whiskey highball or a Manhattan but I havenāt been to one in ages.
I'll get a restaurant cocktail if they're quite creative and have ingredients I'm not gonna find normally and or liqueurs I'm just not gonna cop myself. But shit even basic cocktail prices lately? I'll do a pass if I'm not feeling anything on the menu, with the quickness.
I really enjoy the Irish whiskey's, Green Spot being my favorite, but the last time I went out for a decent meal, I ordered a Red Breast to have while we were waiting to be seated and that shit was $32. I nearly threw my neck out I looked up so quick. A whole ass bottle is like $60-70 and they're out here charging half that for 1.5 oz. It really is crazy.

As soon as people found out, they went into weird negotiation mode.
My father says it's because misery loves and for the love of God, I can't find a better explanation.
Some people also feel like their drinking is less of a problem if everyone else is hammered like they are, a sober person reminds them they don't have to get that fucking messy.

I forgot when you moved here but our winter last year was basically extended fall. It didnāt snow once and in December I was wearing short sleeve shirts and still hot.
Yea this past winter was ezpz. I've been on the east coast and NYC during winter before prior to moving and know how cold and miserable it's supposed to get.
Reading his bio is setting off alarm bells for me. 23 years old, self coached, skipped the long distances on the track and went straight to marathon. Been doing half marathons since 18 but ran his first marathon last year which was the 6th fastest of all time. His second marathon was this year in London with the 3rd fastest time and now in only his third marathon ever, is the fastest of all time.
I hope he is above board.

DXB should be number one on that city ranking list. Safest place I've ever been . Driver left the keys to our car while we went shopping in some block of flats.
