Good session today with my therapist. Last couple of days were actually hell. Still not totally through it but I’m hoping to get a formal diagnosis in the near future and maybe start taking meds if I get anything prescribed. Seeing therapist again on Monday.

Thanks you, lads.
It has never been this bad before but therapy is helping. I've been having intrusive thoughts that stick around and made me physically ill at them. It's important that I learned that thoughts are just thoughts they don't control you and don't even need to mean anything.

Thanks for sharing man.
Glad you had a good session and I hope you are over the worst of the last few days.
Rooting for you.
I've had a huge boon to my happiness by actively trying not to figure out why people are the way they are tbh

Did that yesterday. No COVID streak is still alive.
Today I was at the court by myself shooting around, the same one the two women from Cali asked me for directions to Vermont. Anyway, I'm shooting around, and I see this little kid on the field kicking his soccer ball into the goal, nice form I think to myself, next thing I know he's sitting on his soccer ball watching me shoot, 5 minutes go by and of course he walks up to me with his soccer ball and asks me questions. He asks me how to dribble and shoot, he was really small so I assumed he was like 5, but he was 7, anyway after helping him shoot he eventually challenged me to a 1 on 1 but I passed since he couldn't even hit the rim on shots. He really wanted to play but I said it wouldn't be fair and he said "You can take it easy on me" but I have the mamba mentality when it comes to playing kids so I flat out told him nah I didn't go easy on my nephews when they were your age so we can do horse or something else.
So we did horse and then he gave me some little challenges where I had to shoot from way out, like 30-35 foot threes This kid's little brother eventually walks over and he was maybe 3 or 4, I didn't ask but he showed me his two hot wheels cars as an introduction which I respect. Ayo keep in mind their mom is standing on the field like 100 feet away seemingly all good with a random stranger interacting with her kids. Anyway, there was another kid on the other side of the court who saw me taking these long-range threes and he ends up coming over to ask me how I keep my power on deep shots. Needless to say, this turns into an impromptu workout that lasted like 40 minutes where I helped him with off hand layups, form shooting and let him use the weighted basketball. Nice kid, he's 13 and named Shane, he asked me if I'd be at the court again, had some good height for his age.
I don't quite get it, I ain't exactly the most inviting looking person, yet kids always pulling up on me to interact with me. This happens when I'm with my nephews too, it's not even basketball specific, maybe it's cause I'm always willing to run around with kids and they see the adult out there just laughing and joking with kids which is rare, I guess.

💀
kids are funny
they were probably trying to figure out if you were "somebody" cause you looked interesting and/or good at what you were doing
or this
lot of kids out here craving attention from a stable male older figure that they dont have at home
also yeah i find it weird how comfortable some folks are with their kids talking to absolute randos but they are probably just glad to have a brief moment of peace from the kid.

My brother in laws nieces call me Tio even though we're not related I consider them my nieces now. However there was one awkward moment when I took my friend's kids to get pizza with me and my nephews and they started calling me Uncle and would catch themselves to stop. I dropped the ball with the kid there though, cause he was 12-13 then and ended up 6'6 at 17 but his father never asked me to teach him, shame cause he's built and looks like Jalen Green.
I am becoming the Omega Uncle though.

Had a fucking weird year with my job and applying for better jobs. Finally paid off me though as I start my new job (same company) tomorrow. Not really a promotion, just working in a different section. Better hours, more days off, more money.
Small recap:
- I’ve worked in a factory that makes zips and other similar products for the past 5 years. The pay and benefits are okay.
- Applied to work at Guinness. Got pretty far into the process but was unsuccessful.
- Had an interview for a company called APS that deal in printing. Slightly better money, shit benefits and shit shifts. Turned it down.
- Applied for a technician job at my current workplace in April. Successful, but wasn’t set to start until September due to training people to take over the job I was doing.
- Applied for another role at my current workplace in June. Separate section of work but a similar process (plastic extrusion). Didn’t get an interview. Didn’t hear anything until two weeks ago.
Then manager for that section came over to me and asked if I would like to start on the 1st of September. I said yes.
Was unsure whether to just go ahead with the technician role or go with the operator role on the other section. Mulled it over back in June but decided the latter would be the better fit for me.
Going to be back on 12 hour shifts, 4 days off every week and earning a lot more money as soon as I start. Still have options to move up within the section but I’ve already got my eyes on moving onto the R&D department next.

By reilo Go To PostCongrats dude!
How does your schedule work with 12 hour shifts? Seems intense.
They’re long days. When I’ve worked them in the past I’ve accepted that on a work day, all I have time for is sleep and food.
The time off completely outweighs the negatives for me though. 4 days in work and 4 days off every week. 34 holidays a year on top. I won’t even work 150 days of the year.
It’ll aligns better with my girlfriend’s work too. She works three 12 hour shifts a week. So whichever way my 4 days off land each week, we’ll both have at least 2 days off at the same each week, some weeks it’ll be 3 days.
Since October last year, we’ve only had Sundays off together.
