Here (Denmark) we have forced the phone companies to keep logs and what not for 3 years, to solve serious crime like this. The phone companies obviously been against it, at least if it's on their dime, as it has been a massive cost to them. So yeah huge debates over it, especially as they argued it never actually was the smoking gun in any cases... and then it turned out, the way the law enforcement have been using it here, has been with some buggy software that turns up wrong results. 💀
Several court cases and so on had to be taken up again, due to uncertainty if people were convicted with the help of straight up wrong info making it to the trial.
Could probably have solved the murder of an 18 year old way quicker as well. Instead he (a guy in his fucking 20's only) got to keep doing his thing, including kidnapping and raping a kid as well... By that time, they had actually fixed it though, at least. So they actually found that kid in his house...

Cheers lads, we knew it was coming but she's been in the family for 14 years and it's been shit watching her deterioration over the last week. Shit hitting everyone hard right now.
There's a sense of relief alongside the sadness as her quality of life wasn't particularly great over the last few weeks, despite ours and the vet's best efforts to pull her through. Her liver has been dysfunctional since she was a year old, and this week is when it inevitably failed on her. Glad that my last interaction with her was a big long cuddle.
