My dadās family has KKK members in it and far-right shit heads. Oh and my aunt married a Nazi. As in he was a Nazi in ww2 and moved here after the war.

I loved both sides of my family, my mothers side was bougie and educated, but they got it out the mud to get there, hardworking immigrants. My fathers side was poor compared to them, but hardworking immigrants as well. I can code switch with such precision because when I'd go to one grandmothers house it was in the hood, and the other was in the rich part of town, so I can be good in any setting really. My sister is a lot more polished than me, she was my grandmother (moms side) favorite, they had her in jack and jill, she plays the piano and violin while I play nada....I however was deemed too wild to go to those kind of things.

Dad wasn't super close with his siblings but my cousins were okay to play with when we did hang out. Moms just cut off everyone but her parents back in the day since they were just gen after gen of racists who beat their kids.

Big energy
Mum's moving out of my Nan's place now her and my dad are nearing retirement and want to move to Norfolk, and it needs selling so they can get their inheritance. It's been on the market for over a year and got sold a couple of months ago so it's not unexpected, but still feels a bit weird and sad.
Basically every memory of my grandparents and big family get-togethers is from that house, and I've never lived more than a ten minute drive from my parents.

So I work out with my nephews a lot, I don't do it for anything other than the fact I love them and like seeing their development in whatever it is they like. The other day I worked out with my younger nephew for about 2 hours, just doing form shooting, floaters, 5 cone drill and foul shooting. Today he hit a couple floaters but most importantly he was flawless from the line, something he had trouble with and was annoyed because he gets fouled a lot and would usually go 1 for 2, today he didn't miss a single one. After the game he said it was all because of me unprompted and gave me a hug
