By Xpike Go To Postthey're all competent enough, but also boring as shit if you've played a single video game beforeI played Heavy Rain before and haven't found the games boring.

By DY_nasty Go To PostActually makes want to run Odyssey back.Odyssey is a refined Origins but it can't beat Egypt as a setting.
I know AC gets a lot of flak for being formulaic, but the good AC games are SO much better than the bad ones.
Can't disagree
It's disappointing they nail both Origins and Odyssey, then completely whiff on Valhalla.

By Pedja Go To PostOdyssey is a refined Origins but it can't beat Egypt as a setting.A vast ancient Greece is just as good a setting for that kind of hero journey, but being more familiar maybe it's not as interesting. I'd say they are comparable even if Bayek is more compelling than Kassandra (and anyone is more compelling than Alexios). Surprisingly, I found the fantasy/mythological side the most dull. Atlantis DLC was very pretty and very very boring in particular.
Valhalla is just terrible. I don't know how you fuck up Vikings this hard.
All the present Ubi games from the AC to Far Cry 3 era forward seem to have 4 to 6 gameplay mechanics (which to be fair is more than most games) that they just repeat 60-80 times, and your enjoyment of the overall game/experience seems to largely depend on the setting, plot and characters driving you forward.
I say that as someone who is nearing the end of Ghost Recon Wild Lands and will likely top out at near 100 hours played. I've really enjoyed the story and characters, but the gameplay scenarios have been on repeat for about 50 hours now. Top, top production values in this one though. The amount of dialogue, cutscenes and backstory for the supporting characters is all really impressive.

I remember being very hyped for ass creed 1, and honestly... Despite not really liking the game much in the end, it is probably the closest i've come to liking one of those.
By DY_nasty Go To PostI don't know how you make Asgard lame.Must be hard to get right since it was lame af on God of war too
pizza tower feels like one of those nightmare games, that were installed on your schools computers for no good reason in the late 90s. absolute nightmare stuff... but also seems really fun.
Watched some Black Flag the other day, was surprised how stilted the combat looked. Remake pls.
Bit odd that AC2 can have you doing six things over and over again and it was great, while the first AC had you doing the same but with four things, and it was absolutely dreadful.
If AW2 carries on like this it'll be my goty, which is very surprising. As expected though I'm finding Saga much more interesting than Alan, with one foot in the supernatural and one foot out. Alan is pretty much full-on nonsense, nowhere near as engrossing but still a lot more enjoyable than I thought it'd be.

By C4-621 Go To PostIIRC all the maps looked the same except for the filter or somethingThink it was Far Cry Primal that was basically a flip of the map from FC4
You barely notice it is the same map in FC Primal tbf. It doesn't feel familiar, but the real problem ofc is it doesn't fit the game. It's a map designed for a 60 hour game, while FC Primal has barely 8 hours of content (stretched to 15 hours or so through the typical Ubisoft repetitive design).
Primal is a good game too imo, but hard to recommend due to the above.

But I think it's one of the worst games ever made. I wouldn't even call it a game, it's more of a tech demo. The second game is obviously what they wanted to achieve with the original.

Everything about the new Pyro system in SC looks amazing. Hopefully I'll manage to somehow sneak into one of the upcoming build tests.

Friend and I are playing RE5 and uhhhh they’re going to need to change a lot if (when?) they do a remake. Those guys in grass skirts chucking spears… brah.
By data Go To PostThey did 3 as wellhe said what he said.
Idk if this makes sense but they've made him look even more Irish, like they morphed his face with Shane Long's.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostI copped Alan Wake 2. Leggo brehs.
i was going to do that, too, but then i thought... i'll try out this cyberpunk game first.
still very early into the game, but it feels and looks good so far. went with the street kid class. did i do it right?
