damn
Went to a store and saw Series X at 389€ with the Series S Carbon black right next at 349€. How many proud fathers told their sons on the ride home other people are suckers paying 40€ extra for a bigger box?

I just watched MinnMax's interview with The Simpsons Hit & Run development team. One of the business guys on there said that Vivendi had a great price for a 5 game deal on the table (for the Simpsons license) and turned it down.
Absolutely bizarre to have that development team and not make at least one sequel. There was so much you could do with that Crazy Taxi/Grand Theft Auto base.
Imagine you increased the driving quality to that of a great arcade racer, bigger, more open world, and on more powerful hardware. Sad really.

Their shtick was what if its this popular game but Simpsons
Shame, we could've had a potentially great Soulslike or Xcom by now.

I kinda love the non-descript cars that the FBI and Secret Service always drive in media, Saga's car being the latest.

I hate skill based matchmaking. I don't want to stress over the games I play.
Gimme 1 easy game, 1 stressful game, and 1 where I just get destroyed over 3 stressful games any day.

By Lego Go To PostI hate skill based matchmaking. I don't want to stress over the games I play. That's basically how I'm playing Dota now since Killer is much higher ranked than me and it struggles to find other parties with the same disparity.

Wish it could match the ranks tied to the roles, we're basically fucked when our high ranks are our supports and the other team's are their cores. The other day we played against an Anti Mage who was 5-0 after about five minutes, which just shouldn't happen with any carry, let alone him.
Got a Smokeybox. First impressions are cool packaging, controller feels cheap with way too noisy d pad, no USB C?, console is smaller than I expected.
I totally get what you mean about those Steam errors; they can be a real headache sometimes. But hey, at least you managed to buy the game despite the hiccup.
When it comes to free games, there are some fantastic choices out there. Personally, I've been diving into Counter Strike recently, and it's been an absolute blast. The community is active, and there's a thriving CS2 market for skins if you're into customizing your gear. It adds an extra layer of fun to the game, and you can find some really cool skins to make your weapons stand out.

I am proud of you.

Sbmm is a fucking curse and anyone who programs it into their game deserves to have their salaries revised downwards.
It ducking sucks everywhere it exists

So in a competitive game, people just want to be matched up against anyone?
I dont think I would ever go play casual mode in CS. The matches (usually) being tight is what makes it great. Smurfing gets real boring quickly. Doesn't have to be completely equal in skill. But close enough to make an actual match out of it.
MM sucks no matter what. Having to try hard every game is probably better than having to try hard, easy pub stomp, and then going against pros all for the sake of balance
By DiPro Go To PostYes they want to kill less skilled players over and over againNah it doesn't work out like that in most games, even the bad players are matched against players of the same level, so every game is a pain in the arse, or a struggle, and you never feel good.
Being a top level player in any game is a nightmare. I just want to chill out and you're playing for your life.
If you only have fun when you're winning easily then I suppose that's a failure of game design.
I don't play many shooters, besides some Fortnite a couple years ago, but in the games I play, I want to win some and lose some, even at the exact same rate as skill based match making, my overall experience would be better without it.
If I play someone much better than me, I relax, if I play someone worse, I relax. Play someone at the same level and it's intense, over and over and over again with no breaks. These are 1 on 1 games though.

Sure, but you get 15+ rounds to feel and grow into the contest. Then you've got 3rd party systems for matching that I believe you use? Cs players eating.

We only did that cause the server tickrate was better. It isnt anymore, so we just play regular match making.
But yeah, my point wasnt that it's always needed. Just that some games really do need it imo.
Yeah, that's just how I feel anyway and clearly the majority of people disagree because almost every game uses it these days.

mashallah bro I see. See in long-form round-based stuff it doesn't bother me so much. Even when I used to scrim in NS and the level was high, there's something to learn or contribute.
In something like Apex, where the sbmm actively prejudices solo queue players in favour of full stacks, sbmm can go in the bin. You end up with 9 games carrying a sentient potato and MFCoom vs a lobby of full stacked diamond and masters players. 0 room for growth or play. Then you get a pity round when your KD has cratered and you get a pair of the sweatiest fuckers alive who's movement tech and aim are literally AI. Again, 0 room for growth or play. There's no middle ground with their sbmm.
By Rob Go To PostMM sucks no matter what. Having to try hard every game is probably better than having to try hard, easy pub stomp, and then going against pros all for the sake of balanceNah, my idea is to have a mix of matches where my probability of winning (based on ELO or whatever) would be ~67%, ~50%, and ~33%. Going up against players slightly better than you teaches you things you wouldn't really get by going against players just as good as you and similar for each skill bracket.
I always want an actual chance to win, but I'm ok with some games being a bit tougher or a bit easier than others.

I remember realising how "ain't shit" I was the first time I came up against some EU Fades in NS the first time i did comp ;_;
Tane and Saperion could literally 100-0 a comp game without looking at the screen. Actual monsters.
By Patriotism Go To PostI remember realising how "ain't shit" I was the first time I came up against some EU Fades in NS the first time i did comp ;_;There was a guy named UnknownSoldier or something similar on the servers I frequented. He would kill celerity+carapace lerks with just 25 bullets from an LMG, no matter how evasive they were. You had to approach him assuming he would never miss a bullet. It was dumb.

Recognise the name.
Some of the stuff that would happen in that game could be rage-inducing. Shotgun in the right hands? 1-shot every lerk. Fades not allowed to go anywhere because they'd lose 90% of their hp and have to retreat because they had to take celerity over adrenaline and couldn't meta properly because of stamina management. Then they'd be chased down by these guys with 200fps jetpacks that make accelerate horizontally faster than a cele fade lmao.
God i do miss that bullshit haha.
SBMM irl sucks too
It's nice to play against some 5-a-side tryhards from time to time, but if they were invited every damn weekend then why would I bother
I just wanna talk shit with my mates brehs

what i don't get with sbmm if you just want to relax wouldn't that make you a much worse player and match you up against people that also just want to relax or at their best are only good as your relax form? i played plenty of shooters and i never have a sweat problem lol.
i mean i play fortnite and valorant on mute and i do fine. don't think i need to sweat at all lol.
