By HonestVapes Go To PostI don’t think the general audience is free from being guilty here either. There’s a vocal portion of gamers that expect and demand games to be bigger and better with each passing year. More detailed, more content, etc. Some of the highest rated and biggest selling games of the generation are Switch games, developed by Nintendo, with reused assets, no/very little voice acting and file sizes below 8gb.

Some of the most successful games these days are smaller titles.
Publishers are just greedy. They’re making more and more profits year over year so these “live service games” that constantly generate revenue aren’t even necessary outside of iNfInItE gRoWtH.
By C4-621 Go To PostSony's AAA games cost more than your average AAA I imagineSony's AAA is also mostly worth buying.
They also dont take as long to release as Sony's
By Kibner Go To PostI already had all the waypoints unlocked from launch and the mount, too. Haven't spent a dime other than the initial game purchase. Traversal is easy and quick. And once you unlock the mount on one character, it is unlocked for all your present and future characters on the same account. It only takes like 30 seconds to 1 minute to get to any particular point of interest in the game. Which is in the same ballpark as D2 (with teleport) and faster than D3.
I did grind out all the dungeons for the aspects on my non-seasonal character and, yeah, dungeons fucking suck in this game.
The general flow of the non-dungeon challenging content is you beat up less-challenging things for a currency that you spend to spawn something that is actually challenging. Blood Fields < Hell Tide < special Tree of Whispers boss (can't remember the name). There are also nightmare dungeons, which I don't have much experience with. Because they are dungeons in D4, which are generally not a good time.
I wouldn't say the game is good now, but there are actual things to do in end game.
Nightmare dungeons make dungeons better than the basic world shit. Once you get to level 70 you unlock NM dungeons that limit deaths to 4 and you can play over leveled dungeons if you want. They’re the most efficient source of xp and gear in end game. They are still dungeons though and so I only sprinkled them into other stuff like hell tides.
They need to fox the comms aspect for consoles. Can’t even spam LFG in world chat wat? Unless that’s fixed now?
Also a challenge system separate from NMD

It’s not a even a maybe, it happens all the time. If a big release isn’t graphical impressive then that becomes a stick to beat it with in online discourse.
By data Go To PostBioware aint making it to 2029It's pretty obvious there's no game yet, but I imagine they'd like it out sooner. But yes, Dragon Age will be their last game.
I'll always have Mass Effect 1 I guess.
By data Go To PostI feel like Kibner would like RobocopYeah, I probably would. Trying to finish up XBC3 and CP2077 first.
its got Robots in it
By inky Go To PostThis and Prime remastered are the two main reasons I want to turn on my switch but still got too many games to go through

Bigger battery now we're talking though
I like how upfront they are on the successor. Guess a little different than a console life cycle but still nice.
All improvements that I got from the DF video: https://youtu.be/Z1KLj06fn2s?t=640
- OLED screen
- 90hz refresh rate
- 25% bigger battery
- ~5-10% better performance from faster memory
- slightly lighter
- larger fan (i.e. quieter)
- smaller process, so less power required, so less heat generated
- other, less important improvements at the time stamp in the video I linked

Well, I thought it was just going to be an OLED screen. Look at all those changes. Guess I'm buying a second Steam Deck. Gonna try for the LE.
It's pretty interesting that the bump in memory speed was done to help with battery life and not really for performance. Faster memory means the system goes to idle and ends processes faster, which improves battery. Clever.
Mostly I’m shocked that this new Deck didn’t get leaked ahead of time. The only thing I knew about a Steam Deck revision was that it’d have Wifi 6. Beyond that I thought it’d be a small revision to improve the profitability of the device.
I played Castlevania Lord of Shadows a long arse time ago and enjoyed it for what it was. An okay God of War clone. Started the sequel earlier and fuck me it’s bad.
Okay set pieces at least. The handholding and forced stealth just completely bogs the whole thing down from an average brawler to firmly bad game.

There’s the story is fucked bad, then there’s this game isn’t fun to play bad. I didn’t expect both.
Nintendo put Majora’s Mask together in a single year, this is the best the bozos at Activision can do in 18?! Sheesh
Well they get a free pass from me for publishing Sekiro anyway.
