By Zabojnik Go To PostThe Invincible is out, reviews are mid-ish. Might still play at some distant point in time, when there's a drought and it's sub 10€.Good. From now till 2024 we only accept mid games that can be played at some distant point in time when there's a drought and its sub 10

But more importantly. FM24 day!
By NiceGuy Go To PostEven the PS4 version of RDR2 still looks unbelievable, must be crazy on PC. Rockstar just leave everyone else in the dust when it comes to making open worlds that feel like they could be real places, every single hill, tree and crevice looks like it's been very deliberately placed. Bit disappointing that there still isn't a PS5 game that looks as good as it and TLoU2 imo, though I haven't played Demon's Souls.
As good as RDR2 looks, they really struggled on making the hair look convincing. Kinda stuck out to me compared to the quality of everything else. Admittedly a very nitpicky thing to complain about.
I don't know if you guys knew this, but Alan Wake 2 looks absolutely stunning maxed out and with path tracing and a bit of ReShade thrown in.
Too bad there no easy way to share/display HDR screenshots on the interwebs.

How much does the silliness in AW2 impede on the moodiness? Might finish Spiderman 2, go back to BG3 and play AW2 when I need another break from that
By s y Go To PostAlan Wake II looks very good but I am disappointed in the foliageHaven't paid it that much attention tbh, I'm in love with the lighting and how dense everything looks, but as long as foliage is physicalized to a reasonable degree, as it is in AW2, it gets a pass from me. I find static or rather non-reactive foliage to be incredibly immersion breaking.
EDIT: Actually ... it is only physicalized for NPCs? I swear it was moving when Saga was walking through it earlier. Weird.
Excited to play AW2 in the near future. One thing I loved about the first one is the trees and general PNW forest area sound design. Trees and vegation moved with the wind, ruffled and crackled creating an incredible atmosphere.
Are there any decent shows/films set in the forests of the PNW, preferably in the dark and rain?
It's always looked like the part of America that I'd most like to visit.

By DY_nasty Go To PostExoprimal is interesting and quirky and ngl that's enough.Glad you were able to try it out!
Be sure to stick with it at least until you do your first raid. It will involve more than one team/squad working together to complete a mission.

Bloodborne is my everything. Finished it probably 20 times, a remake or even a PS5 port is my most wanted piece of media and i would still not watch a movie about it lol.
Probably the last thing i want from Bloodborne and i own and sometimes play the board game lol.

Downloaded Jusant earlier just to try it out. Couldn’t put it down, cleared it in one sitting. Great game, would recommend.

If DLC can sell this well, all Nintendo needs to do for BOTW3 is give Link a splatoon gun and call it a day.

I recognized its full potential from the demo, unlike, say, inky. Just saying.

Insomniac taking notes.
Well this fucking sucks. I really wanted to know Pyramid Head's backstory to find out why he became the kind of guy he is.
Same. Was really looking forward to finding out which of his kids died and caused his life to spiral

I remember when Epic started to really push the EGS, there were people on this very website calling Steam a slow launcher. Lol

i hate it. on top of that, it seems to forget both my email and password every month
Never understood peoples hatred of Steam so much that they convinced themselves that EGS was a good product worth acknowledging
EGS was missing basic ass features that every storefront had. Their claim that was supposed to convince people to use their platform was that publishers get a bigger cut of the money…yay?
My options are spend $60 on Steam or $60 on EGS. Publishers making more money isn’t really something that goes into consideration at that point.

By Zabojnik Go To PostNice. It's on the, sigh, list.I definitely was wary of the demo. Game could easily get caught overusing its elements: the "window to the past" seashells, the cutesy animal companion, beacon activations, or fill itself with mostly "post its" world building through badly written notes. Think Planet of Lana is a recent example of what happens when you play it formulaic, safe and boring.
I recognized its full potential from the demo, unlike, say, inky. Just saying.
After finishing it, I can gladly say it's not the case. The world gets more interesting as you climb, just great looking and very well realized and unique concept. Very well put together graphically and aesthetically, with minimal but effective ambience. I even enjoyed the writing in some of the notes, mainly the ones following the Bianca threadline. Still didn't go out of my way for them tho.
I also appreciated the short length. It's not the best indie I've played this year, that's still Cocoon, but game gets a recommendation for sure.
