By Zabojnik Go To PostHere are some very useful .ini edits for Alan Wake 2. Disable vignette, FOV increase, add DLSS sharpening, etc.

inch of allah.
By Zabojnik Go To PostAlso, change "m_bUnlockAspectRatio" to true for full-ish ultrawide support.Added this in later. Unlocks ultrawide in (non-cgi) cutscenes.
that is nice. i hate it when games do that shit.
also i had the fucking side letterboxing stay for gameplay as well after a cutscene, reloading it worked but... come on.

Indeed. I've been saying this for ages ... even if you don't optimize everything for ultrawide resolutions, just add the fucking option and mark it as experimental instead of hiding it in .ini files or not having it at all. 99% of people won't care if a weird visual bug shows up here and there.
Don't feel like complaining though, game looks amazing, love how dense everything is, and it runs great. I'm getting 80-90fps with PT and everything maxed out, FG + balanced mode. Feels smooth and responsive in the initial parts of the game, but I'll consider lowering some settings to get to ~100fps, if things get dicey in more demanding / action scenes.

This game is gorgeous my god.
it really is. i am very sad my 3090 cant really do it proper justice with ray tracing, decided to turn it off and go with +60 fps instead of barely 30 and ray tracing.
Well it doesnt seem to be due to poor optimization, so I like it. Will only make me harder when I get a 5090.

One of those games where I dont mind having lower FPS even though it feels like shit
Are you getting SH vibes from this?

Sad about Phantom Liberty ending. It’s bullshit there’s no new game + for this game, absolute bollocks.

i dont think it does, i saw the performance mode was mostly low to medium pc settings. but yeah, it looks really fucking good without it as well. it scales really well.
one thing that really looks off at times though, is the blood. looks too... bright and just not the right colour

u what
Battle.net games do not play well with Sunshine. :(
Mostly because all the instructions I have found online to launch a game directly from the command line just end up with the Battle.net launcher loaded but no game. At least the Steam Deck lets me use a track pad as a mouse while holding the Steam button, so I have a work around. Not ideal, though.
Also, Sunshine recommended a program called QRes to change host machine resolution and refresh rate from the command line and wow. This thing was designed for XP and the link the Sunshine docs had for it is the Sourceforge repository. And there was no executable that worked on Win11, so I built from source. In addition, the Sunshine docs did not have the right syntax in their examples on how to use it, and the program uses a help file that isn't supported on W11 without installing yet more software, so I just examined the code to find the correct syntax.
I also had to add a custom resolution for the Steam Deck through my GPU's driver software since my monitor doesn't support 1280x800 out of the box. :v
At least I have it all working now! I launch Moonlight from my Steam Deck and my host machine changes to the appropriate resolution and refresh rate. I can launch into either the desktop or into Steam Big Picture mode. When I exit Moonlight, my host machine goes back to its normal resolution and refresh rate.

Said the same about Skyrim, wrong. Said the same about GT Sport, wrong again.
I'm so misunderstood, ugh!
Disco Elysium on PS Plus. Giving it another go. Went for 6 INT, 4 Psych. This game needs a playback speed modifier for the voice over.

I'll spend the $60 because I'm broke. You wouldn't get it
edit: 1st interaction in disco elysium caused a big where the death screen didn't load so I can't progress and have to do a new game lol

There’s a lot of walking and talking early on but it introduces game mechanics that twist it a bit. Mood and visuals start out really strong.
Was undecided on whether or not it would wrap the year for me and so far I’m not regretting it. Game looks expensive, Remedy really upped their game.

I went full on Inland Empire for maximum weird. I'd avoid the physical skills, boring.

By Rob Go To PostIf Alan Wake 2 is anything like the first, don’t even bother sy
It’s not, I went and tried the remaster for a bit and disliked it just as much as the original.
As part of the homosexual underground, i gotta say it's the greatest game since silent hill 2. Inshallah.
But i do think it being fully voiced now actually.. Kind of makes it worse, even though it's done well. Takes too long to play, i enjoyed just reading it all. It's still an option though so no real harm.

I genuinely don't think I would've liked it nearly as much if at all without Lenval Brown's rhythmic and otherworldly delivery.
@brother sy
Fwiw I hated AW1 and I don't like walknchats at all in any game, but its fairly engaging here. The intro chapter is the worst though because nothing crazy is happening
Worth the gamble!
