Combat makes you remember all the things Legend of Dragoon got wrong when it comes to input timings. Lack of status or effect depth means combat is more boring than clicking auto for every FF13 fight. The delay/break system is a mess because it relies on timings mentioned earlier - in a braindead gameplay environment which means fights only get longer if you're not memorizing inputs for everything from combos (which are rarely used but essential to get bosses up outta there) to mitigating damage received (yes from any and all attacks).
Music felt phoned in. The environments and world stuff... smh. Its actually good. It's so good that it's actually confusing as to why they forced this battle system into the game instead of going full CrossCode or Zelda. It takes the style over substance to a realm far, far beyond even the worst parts of Persona.
The longer you play it, the more you see the wasted potential. Not finishing it. Probably my biggest disappointment of the year.
I thought the music actually had some slappers but yeah I was surprised there's no status effects or significant modifiers in combat. It's not really challenging at all.
I will say the final act of the game is fire and I wish more/most of the game took place there. Traversing the world was fun enough overall to trudge through it and get there.

Huge nerfs (Zimmerman, Songbirds, Stun Needles, homing coral nuke, Assault Boost, kicks except for reverse joints etc) and buffs to most weapons, Frame and Inner Parts (stagger, recovery, arms recoil control etc)
Decreased Tetrapods kick range

No clue. Hadn't been following the game, lately. Like, I know there were issues with people wanting to be omnicrafters and some of the mechanics of end-game events, but generally thought the devs were very competent and made enough improvements to the game with every patch (and few, if any, detrimental patch changes) that there was plenty of good will.

Fall guys and Hell let loose used to be that, but after both were sold/taken over by other devs, it has been absolutely terrible. Epic destroying Fall Guys was a real uncummy move.
