By Kibner Go To PostSwitch 2 probably won’t be much more, if any, more powerful than Steam Deck. Should have better battery life and maybe a better screen, though.Tbf there already are Steam Deck competitors a fair bit stronger than the Steam Deck
By barber Go To PostTbf there already are Steam Deck competitors a fair bit stronger than the Steam Deckhow many of them cost $400 tho.
they are also quite a bit larger. switch needs to be comfortably held by a child.
By DiPro Go To Posthow many of them cost $400 tho.you don't think nintendo will price closer to $500 considering inflation?
By DY_nasty Go To PostI'm really on the fence regarding buying a steamdeck. Might pull the trigger this month tbhWas looking into it myself but realized I already have too much to play, alas.
By barber Go To PostTbf there already are Steam Deck competitors a fair bit stronger than the Steam DeckAnd they cost more and have worse battery life than what Nintendo tends to ship with their portables.
By s y Go To Postyou don't think nintendo will price closer to $500 considering inflation?Switch launched at $300 7 years ago.
i don't think they will go to $500.
$400 seems like a safe bet.
Nintendo, the publisher who’s main demographic are kids and adults who still think they are kids isn’t going to price their demographic out.
Nintendo Entertainment System: Original retail price - $89.99, Adjusted for inflation - $243
Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Original retail price - $199, Adjusted for inflation - $433
Nintendo 64: Original retail price - $199.99, Adjusted for inflation - $378
GameCube: Original retail price - $199, Adjusted for inflation - $333
Wii: Original retail price - $249.99, Adjusted for inflation - $368
Wii U: Original retail price - $299, Adjusted for inflation - $386
Switch: Original retail price - $299, Adjusted for inflation - $362
By s y Go To Postyou don't think nintendo will price closer to $500 considering inflation?I doubt it, tbh.
yeah i will be highly surpised if they go over $399.
$399 seems perfect adjusting for inflation and overall price increases.

By s y Go To Postfor some reason i thought the switch launched at $400. nevermind. It did in Canada. 😔
By Kibner Go To PostAnd they cost more and have worse battery life than what Nintendo tends to ship with their portables. Not having to use x86 is a real benefit for Nintendo though.
Nintendo won't be taking a loss on their hardware but they get they get the added benefit of both software sales and economies of scale that those other Steam deck competitors don't get. I wouldn't surprised if it wasn't substantially more powerful than the Deck.
I'm buying it for Xeno and Fire Emblem but a Steam Deck with emulators and your PC games already on it sounds 👌
By diehard Go To PostNot having to use x86 is a real benefit for Nintendo thoughThey will likely still be using a Tegra on a 28mm process node, though.
By Kibner Go To PostThey will likely still be using a Tegra on a 28mm process node, though. On a switch 2? no way!
By Rob Go To PostNintendo, the publisher who’s main demographic are kids and adults who still think they are kids isn’t going to price their demographic out.The kids have parents footing the bill.
The "adults" gaming on Nintendo devices are buying 1k phones and other frivolous things.
Nintendo can go as high as $399 if they want. Does the device has the guts to warrant $399 vs. $299? that's TBD.
By diehard Go To PostOn a switch 2? no way!Ok, 28nm was an exaggeration. They sure as shit ain’t using a process node in the single digits, though.
By s y Go To PostPS5 runs Baldurs Gate 3 at PC ultra settings @ 60fps20fps in the city, perfectly playable.
Game is CPU bound, so it's easy to push graphically, but a mid CPU will kill fps even in low settings. I guess they figured putting it on ultra is basically the same performance as medium on fixed hardware.
I think it looks quite nice so definitely the right decision.

By Zabojnik Go To Post20fps in the city, perfectly playable.PS5=4090 rtx confirmed
By Crusher Go To PostDoesn’t this happen every time a Nintendo console is about to drop?
How are they going to make an handheld hybrid that has the CPU, the VRAM, the IO, the SSD space and the GPU to run PS5/XS tier games for 400$? While making money on the hardware to boot.
Cross gen is over too.
They don’t need to match all those hardware specs to play the same games though.
The OG Switch didn’t match the PS4 yet it could still play games like The Witcher 3 and Doom Eternal.
The Steam Deck doesn’t match the Series X or PS5 yet it can still play Starfield and Ratchet.
If the Switch 2 can be on par with the Steam Deck, or offer more performance in the realms of 30%. It’ll be in an okay-to-good position. I’d hazard a guess that it’ll just be on par, given Nintendo really don’t push the envelope when it comes to hardware anymore.
Baldur's Gate 3 - 10
Upon finishing a game such as this, there can be a feeling of listlessness, of not knowing what to do with yourself. That's not the case here. As the credits roll, you'll think less about the experience you had, and more about the one you didn't. How would the adventure go if you made this decision, or played as that class? What would happen if you tried this, or did that? Baldur's Gate 3 leaves you with as many ideas as it does memories. That, surely, is the soul of roleplaying.
damn
Do we have to pick a side between BG3 and Starfield like with Barbie/Oppenheimer? I picked Barbie last time, but I really don’t want to choose between BG3 and Starfield because I don’t want my choice to disappoint Todd.

Compared to BG3, Starfield is Meg 2
By s y Go To PostTheir blurb for AC6 is absolute nonsense.Very sad
