By DY_nasty Go To PostIt is, but not for reasons like skyboxes being oriented poorly or how much a player will walk in one direction for zero reason. They're pretty valid complaints, I mean functionally they're minor but they're certainly immersion breaking. It's not the thing that would really bother me unless I was running into invisible walls all the time, but for others it will be.
Not that it matters because people have already made up their minds, but as I've said before, the game (all of theirs really) are designed around on foot exploration. The landmarks and the cities and just the density of the content. And there's a jetpack you can upgrade.
Games designed around vehicles are different kinds of games with different pacings and goals. There's no need to walk backwards to a conclusion.

A massive space game with procedural generation, to me, puts exploration at the forefront. They're had to make obvious concessions on the technical side and have made design decisions to make the game work, but the figarative and literally segmentation of all of these things isn't condusive to an experience that really shines on exporation.
I mean that's fine, it's obviously just going to be another Bethesda RPG with a bit of smoke and mirrors, but personally i'm quite disappointed in that side of things because that's the thing I thought would separate it from their previous titles

The game has 1000+ worlds which can procedurally generate 5 tiiles per planet before anything trashed and regenerated and tbats not good enough from an exploration perspective? Wat?
The game may look like dogshit but it sounds rad from an exploration point of view to me /shrug

Tiles are also pretty big on their own, and realistically, most people won't ever even land on 50 unique planets, let alone 1K+.

I don't see how that is less conducive to exploration than say, flying a ship at low atmosphere circumnavigating a globe and having to see the same few structures pop up every few kms in the distance over and over, repeated n times in every single planet like NMS does to make up for the fact that they have to make these things available to everyone on every one of the one quintillion pre-generated planets they can land on. Or just walk in a straight line for one hour on empty terrain generated ad infinitum, which no one ever does even in the games that allow this.
It's just a different kind of illusion, but if it doesn't work for you then it doesn't.
Alright here’s how I can sum up my general feelings on what I’ve read so far…
See a big body of water on a strange alien planet? Well you can swim on top of it, but you can’t dive, you can’t see what’s underneath. Surface level stuff. Menu-based exploration and traversal.
I’m sure the RPG elements will be fun, I’m sure the combat will be ok. It’s just not the giant leap for the stuff around all that that it looked like it might be from the trailers.
Let’s see what the reviews say. I hope it’s good.

In desperate need of cooler looking bipedal legs in AC6. Was hoping I'd get all the OG Raven parts after mopped the fucking floor with him. I will eventually unlock those right? Can't even find a good list online showing how all the different armor.
Yes you will! But in P2's arena
The PVP is fire btw, netcode isn't an issue really since we dont have to suffer through i-frames so much lol
Edit:
Dyyy the true ending boss is SICKKK

i would've prefered if they made way less planets but they're actually planets (don't have to be huge) and you could explore it all. like how each planet in outer wilds has their own character but just make it 50 of them not 5.
from what i've seen we got 1000 different themes for a procedural generated tile that has absolutely nothing on it not even terrain, just flat surfaces.

I hope Starfield is pretty chill. I've been playing turbo charged boomer shooters pretty nonstop and my adrenaline gland is tired
Just get some Adrenachrome supplement.
On Sea of Stars, loving the graphical design, game is pretty good so far (2 hrs in)

Could've sworn it was 72 hour early access when I ordered it
Probably won't have time to play it until Tuesday, and I have nothing to do today or tomorrow :(

By Cleff Go To PostReminder for the PS5 bros who are yet to play Baldurs Gate 3(myself included).I still have games to clear in my backlog 😔
Can’t justify buying Batong’s Gate 3
Played a few hours of Sea of Stars. The intro is too classic JRPG for its own good. Hope the battles improve.
Don't want to compare it to other classic titles but against Chained Echoes? Doesn't seem close outside of the art.

after I finish BG3 (🥺) I'm gonna borrow For Answer (and any other ACs my friend has) because fuck I can't get enough of this exhilarating gameplay loop.
Tinker your mech and go kill. It can't get any purer than that.
