Going to be interesting to see the setups people come up with for that controller given how it'll fit their own personal needs.
There's a lot more Ubisoft there then I would have guessed. I was shocked how much I enjoyed Assassin's Creed Rogue. Made me go out and get AC4 a few years ago, which I also enjoyed.
By Pedja Go To PostI'd space the Far Cry games out, they're all pretty much the same game. Far Cry Primal is a nice change to the formula so I'd recommend it.Christ, I don't even want to consider adding anything else, but Far Cry 3 was on the backlog and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

4 was the first one with the boat stuff right? Probably my favourite AC outside of the Ezio trilogy.. maybe even straight up after AC2 tbh.
Really hope the one coming this year is good. The open world ones have been so boring. Amazing settings but total sleep as games.

By KimoSan Go To PostI'm going to start the last game I have on my PS3 backlog this weekend (Dishonored) before finally making the PS5 move hopefully next month.who are you?
I've restarted the backlog cycle over the last two months by picking up all the last gen games I missed by not having a PS4 for the last five years. Have some digital games and DLC (Witcher 3 & Arkham Knight) stuff that I've owned for years I want to play too.
I got all this for less than $200 from various spots and I'm pretty pleased that there are so few current gen games I'm dying to play.

By DY_nasty Go To Postboat stuff started in 3 actuallyI got the 3 remaster, so I'll get to that at some point. Maybe between Far Cry's.
I beat 2 when it released and then checked out of the series after Brotherhood. That was enough for me. But I figured I'd give the series another try since they dropped the modern day angle.
Rogue was a very nice concise experience to play. I wish I had played 4 first though because...the DLC for Black Flag where you're freeing slaves was incredible. That shit didn't get old at all. I was shockingly invested in the characters by that point.

That's a shame about AC3 because the US history stuff was really well handled - for a videogame - in 4 and Rogue. That entire act with Ben Franklin was damn entertaining.
I forgot about Liberation. I played that briefly on Vita. Slick setting, but very shallow. Didn't finish it. I'm assuming 3 is likely more of that.

Played a bit and Exoprimal is cool but man, modern MP games are incomprehensible. So many menus, so much bs, I just want to play with my boi. Why are classes locked behind a paywall.
Ngl at the ending segments when you fight the other team... I had no clue wtf was going on. Played support in both matches because no one else on my team wanted to, but it was quite fun.

That's perfect for microsoft, tbh. As a third party.

By Zabojnik Go To PostCan't see anything in that clip, Vapes, looks like the video is corrupted / compressed to hell. The quality defaults to 480p for some reason. Set to to 1080p and it looks like roblox still, but there shouldn't be any major compression artifacts.
FF16
Can't think of a game where there are such obvious long stretches where none of the effort or budget has gone into them. Feels like I'm playing an abandoned MMO at times while waiting for the next major quest line. Don't think I can be bothered to drag myself through these lulls in NG+
Starting to think we'll never get another FF game that doesn't drop the ball in a lot of areas. It blows my mind that they can put so much time and money into the games and still seem like they put all of it into excelling at just one or two things to the detriment of everything else.

Player agency in builds

Coherent enough story

There is no reason that the game couldn't have been good at all of those things that a game like this should be striving for.
I'll be devastated if I don't get on with the D&D ruleset in BG3 or if the tutorials don't get me on board, the same way I soon dropped Pathfinder even though I was quite enjoying it.

I think the only one of those down time stretches after an Eikon fight I enjoyed is when you just went around telling everyone who you just killed lol.
But Fuck Mid and every single one of her terrible ship building quests(NG+ it still took like 30m while skipping everything).
Not sure how far you are Hitch but right before the very end, the game will dump Dozens of sidequests on you. There are several which include, unique encounters and bosses, change your party permanently, open new areas of the maps up and have full budget/mocapped cutscenes.
And every single one of them could have replaced those low-priority post-eikon downtime quests, especially Mid's. It feels like they accidentally took a few main quests out of the campaign and made them side ones.

Just being able to choose what you and your party members are good at, and switching your build up depending on the enemies you're fighting. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh there because I haven't tried out the non-default Eikonic abilities besides Leviathan Strike because I've been putting all my attribute points into upgrading them rather than unlocking them.
I'm a bit down on the game because I'm at the Mid bit that you mentioned, and it's completely destroyed the momentum that the game had hit. I get that they wanted some down-time after the Titan fight, but this just feels like a complete waste of time making me slowly run back and forth across the hideout.

Hogwarts Legacy wasn’t bad, basic but pretty fun
Didn’t buy it new, traded for that shít so I didn’t contribute to anything 🤔
Now starting Jedi Survivor
Loved fallen order

i do wish FF16 would let you save 2 or 3 sets of skill loadouts
there's one set of skills i like to use for just random mook enemies and another one for unique encounters/boss fights
make use of the reset skill option and experiment

holy shit, exoprimal has a raid boss that you work together with the other group to defeat
that was cool

Yeah Hitch you'll get plenty of different enough Eikons, master what skills you like. I agree with everything else
I liked the main characters but my FF sample size is like 2 games so I don't know what makes a great FF character? I thought the Dominants were pretty awesome

MicroSofts initial plan was to dominate the living rooms and their pockets are so deep that they can do a Manchester City until they succeed.
Sony should have gotten out of the game early and partnered up with them. just should have integrated their "joint venture" consoles straight into their Bravia sets.
Would have let them dominate in at least one market.
You say that like Playstation hasn't been massively successful from the release of the Xbox until now, to the point that MS see these huge buy-outs as the only way to compete. They've had 20 years in the sun (besides the first half of the PS3 gen) where you'd have had them sharing the spoils on the off-chance that people actually want TVs with integrated consoles.
