ff7 really isn't too grind heavy compared to the other ffs imo
especially not early on. you may want to grind materia every once in a while if you're close to must-have abilities/spells.

Fr ff7 is a low key weird ass game mechanically. They tried a lot of relatively new stuff at once and some stuff meshed better than others. It's probably downright jarring playing it for the first time these days.

Just made it out of Kalm and hit the Chocobo Farm.I always did some griding before Temple of the Ancients as their is a boss with a difficulty spike there. Also you don't get to fully choose your party to go there and exp is not shared so you have to make sure to level the right characters.
Is there a need to grind heavy in this? Characters don't gain levels while out of party, do they?

Haven’t done a single side quest so far, 15 hours in. Just got to Dhalmekia.
So far my main criticism is often poor choices in dialog, and confusing names. Half the time I don’t know who or what the hell they’re talking about and my mind just drifts.
Don’t know how close to the end I am, but so far the GoT comparisons are overplayed, this thing is a super hero anime story basically. But it’s fun.
Combat has been crack. New Game + booked already.
So far my main criticism is often poor choices in dialog, and confusing names. Half the time I don’t know who or what the hell they’re talking about and my mind just drifts.
Don’t know how close to the end I am, but so far the GoT comparisons are overplayed, this thing is a super hero anime story basically. But it’s fun.

If you miss a sentence or something just VAR it with ps5's Save Recent Gameplay (share button). And you can view the encyclopedia during cutscenes btw, very helpful.
