After back to back hits with Kotor and Mass Effect 1 (and JE I guess), Bioware wanted to go back to a project closer to their previous IE games. Dragon Age had been in the works for years and years, it was something they really wanted to make, and had spent a good bunch of time trying to do right (even on an aging engine, as it wasn't that much of a looker when it released).
People loved it and it became their best selling game ever at the time with close to ~5 million copies sold. That was finally it, they thought they really had 2 winner IPs to get at least a trilogy out of each and that, if they played their cards right, could reach the sales numbers of the hits of the era: Skyrim and Assassin's Creed, etc. both passing 10m copies during that time.
So they decided to speed up production and fast tracked sequels (an even new IPs likeBeyond Anthem and Shadow Realms lol). Teams grew, investments were made, visions and scope changed and they tried so fucking hard to chase everything popular they could like shooters and multiplayer... and not a single one of their games since then even came close to selling as well.
I think their biggest game ever (ME3) got close to 7m copies, all told. Never got a single 10m seller. But it's fine, now they're all "We are back to only single player games!", and still toiling away on those 2 IPs for at least the next decade. Most of the people responsible already left as well.

I'd love Dragon Age to be good. I fucking adored the first one and enjoyed the second one way more than most (the asset reuse was egregious for sure) but Inquisition is up there with RE5 (...and Andromeda 😬) as one of the most disappointing sequels of all time.
I'd imagine mostly. But these studios (like Blizzard) are probably filled with people who wanted to work at BioWare because they loved what BioWare made when they were growing up so there's always enough hope there for me to be interested. A FOOL'S HOPE.

I love Inquisition but I can't downplay how bad their choice of a primary villain ended up being nor how garbage the intro sequence was
By C4-621 Go To PostGenuinely the worst looking villain I've ever seen in a video gameTbf I have no idea if this is a villain or not
I understand why some people get so mad over SBMM in games now. When you play a game without SBMM and absolutely roll through an enemy team with a 3+ K/D, it just feels nice after a late shift at work.
I hate SBMM. Especially in FIFA. I don't play it anymore because it just became a grind. It's not even about winning, because I was still winning, but every game at the top level was stressful, unfun, slave to the meta type stuff.
I just always play the way I have the most fun with, even in SBMM. I do make some concessions to the meta (like making sure a team has all roles covered), but I like seeing how high I can go while enjoying myself.
Playing this way also has me branching out a good bit as I find some enjoyable ways to play each role so that I (almost) never get frustrated at my own personal lack of skill/execution.

Wow, banger of an update.
Never expected to see Crusader of Centy and Landstalker on there. The Genesis app is nuts.
This is what I mean. This game does reskins the right way. You've fought this exact same model enemy before, but the hunt version adds wildly new moves.
I cannot believe that some reviews spoke negatively about the enemy variety on display while GOW2018 reviewed as well as it does.
I dont want to watch any video I wanna come up with my own combos 😁
People will always argue about reskins in bad faith. It was egregious in GoW though and wasn't even optional or fun lmao.
I love that Taylor Swift looking mofo btw. Cool characters

Without lowering the res or any upscaling. Modders got some of Bloodborne running at 1080/60 on PS5(dev unit, the Cinco hasn't been hacked yet).
By s y Go To Postit's 6 minutes they managed to get running at 60fps on a PS5 dev kit m8A man can dream.

By C4-621 Go To PostDude thats better than their 500 euro one fuck them 🤣Aye. Kotobukiya doesn't have the same level of engineering or quality as Bandai, but no one does. They are a solid Tier-2 model kit manufacturer.

FYI, these are kits, so you will have to build them and potentially detail/paint them yourself. Not sure how much of these come pre-painted.
By s y Go To PostNice
On less than 40m PS5s at $70 too whew 😌
I need to stop giving any attention to boxed sales in the UK, everything seems to be selling like shite there over the last few years. Not sure if digital is making up the gap or if the industry is on its arse over here.
Enjoying the game but feeling very railroaded. There's been nothing of note to do so far beyond going down the corridors that the main quests are sending me down.
The only shops around here that I can buy a game in these days is Asda, Tesco, Currys or Argos. All of which have a piss poor selection. So it's digital or buying a physical copy online.
No one here cares but I bought that AEW game and it's absolute garbage. It's giving tony hawk pro skater 5 energy

You can transfer your FM23 saves to FM24.
FM24 – Marking our 20th anniversary of Football Manager by delivering the most complete version in the series' history, across Steam, Epic, Microsoft Store, Game Pass, PS5, Xbox, Apple Arcade, Switch and iOS & Android for mobile.
FM25 – For the first time in decades, a true sequel. The Unity engine will bring a new graphics engine, a fresh user interface and advanced animations, alongside the introduction of women's football (plus lots more, across platforms).
By inky Go To PostGame pass confirmed for FM 24 thoIt's pretty much expected this days. GamePass was actually one of the reasons why they really wanted to allow to transfer saves because people loss access to the previous game as soon as the new is released.
Nice
By NiceGuy Go To PostEnjoying the game but feeling very railroaded. Anything that deviates from that is an exception.
I'm going to have to buy Jedi Survivor on fucking Origin, aren't I. Cursed app, I thought I was rid of it for good after Apex released on Steam.
40€ vs 70€. Unless I can get it for cheap via my argentinian (I think, only used it once for Hitman 3 iirc) Epic Games account.
EA Pro access for a month might work too?

Almost alone justifies the subscription instead of buying them piecemeal on steam.
Very curious about the move to Unity for FM 25. I know for them probably having textures or lighting is S massive upgrade so we'll see what this engine upgrade brings. As long as they don't sacrifice features or block mods I'm all for it

Also, Origin is dead M9. Last time I launched it it automatically uninstalled itself and auto updated to the EA App (which I already had installed. Yeah it installed it twice). It also for some reason removed my licenses for two games and it took support like a month of dumb ass reps telling me to reinstall and reboot my computer before they realized it was their stupid ass backend issue and gave them back.
Also in my region they started charging VAT on every payment method which means all games are now closer to $90. (Same price on Steam even though it shouldn't add VAT there.)
I'm just gonna wait till it goes up on game pass. Everything on fucking game pass from now on or pay $90 apparently.
By Lupercal Go To PostIs it still Early Access or are they doing a Battlepass thingy? Free updates?Early access. No battlepass, still getting updates.
Yeah, no luck with foreign Epic Stores, still 70$.
Might go for a month of EA Pro, honestly. Kinda want to play it now. Sucks the Pro sub it's not available via Steam, only the regular EA Play.

I would love to see Smokey play Battlebit because its the best Battlefield in years but it also looks like Roblox
Budget numbers without marketing costs
TLOU2 budget - 220m(peak of 200 full time devs)
Horizon Forbidden West - 212m(peak of 300 full time devs).
About in line with what I expected. Surprise HFW isn't more expensive but Netherland devs are cheaper than California devs
