By Daz Go To PostIt would be nice if you all didn’t shit on each others excitement.Never been to the NBA thread before I see.
Glancing through FF16 reviews sounds like the story completely falls apart about 1/2-2/3 ‘s through the game. Sounds like after all the drama it really is a final fantasy game after all.
By DiPro Go To Postis there a FF post 6 that isn't an incoherent mess? The mmo's.

I'm surprised this managed to go halfway into the game before it happened tbh
Kudos to the FFXVI team

By DiPro Go To Postis there a FF post 6 that isn't an incoherent mess?Only reason 6 isn’t a mess in the back half is because the story basically stops once the world ends there is no story just little side stories while you find people.

MS pointing to these deals as the basis that this acquisition is best for everyone and everyone should be happy but not willing to disclose is a red flag. The simple sign these to get through approval then renegotiate everyone once through.
By Laboured Go To Post@reilo, BCC reilo
Why is this the one game exposing all these frauds? How can you come at this game for the story when it makes the previous FFs look like they were written in crayon.
Wow followed up on his tweets and he’s just out there trying his best to “spoiling but not spoiling lmao”. What an asshole.

one of the funniest things in the whole acquisition is how MS is trying to argue how absolutely awful they are at this gaming business thing.
By DiPro Go To Postone of the funniest things in the whole acquisition is how MS is trying to argue how absolutely awful they are at this gaming business thing."We're so bad at this -- let us acquire more prominent publishers to ruin them, too" is very anti-consumer and should be the actual reason why the FTC blocks this deal.
Their argument we suck so we have the right to buy whomever we want so we can be #1 is probably the only honest thing they have said during the process.
By reilo Go To Post"We're so bad at this – let us acquire more prominent publishers to ruin them, too" is very anti-consumer and should be the actual reason why the FTC blocks this deal.
It’s just a “thought experiment”

It couldn't be they reached mutually beneficial agreements that the FTC is trying to throw out because it harms their case.
By reilo Go To Post"We're so bad at this – let us acquire more prominent publishers to ruin them, too" is very anti-consumer and should be the actual reason why the FTC blocks this deal.No you see they were hands off on Redfall and look at it compared to Starfield. Pretty clear their involvement is needed.

Seems like it would be the other way around if that were the case.
if there was ever an FF where the story can take a backseat its this one lol
Just throw more awesome encounters

By jjasper Go To PostBut MS is the one trying to block the agreements being revealed not the ftc unless I read it wrong. Seems like it would be the other way around if that were the case.FTC want the deals involving Nvidia, Nintendo and Cloud excluded from the process, along with the remedies already agreed with the European Commission.
Microsoft wants all of that on the table. They want the details of the deal sealed to third parties.

Good guys FTC are only protecting poor Nintendo and Nvidia here from making a bad decision. It's not about anything else really.
By inky Go To PostMicrosoft wants all of that on the table. They want the details of the deal sealed to third parties. So they don’t want it all on the table. They are saying basically believe us and don’t look for evidence
The irony is they'd end up protecting someone like you because I have no idea why you have trust in Microsoft handling Activision's portfolio correctly after 20 years of what they've done with their acquihires
There's no irony here. I don't have any trust in Microsoft handling their own business, let alone all of Activision's portfolio (which is basically Blizzard and CoD, Activision is mishandling that very well on their own). It's just these things to me are not some sort of essential input that needs to be protected, that's all. It's not a pharma business trying to buy all insulin sellers to jack up prices 10,000%. It's just videogame IP, and I have no say on what gets made or not beyond buying games I like.
And also, people are acting like they have some ultimate benign, morally superior reasoning about "organic" markets, and protecting IP from the clutches of evil corporations, when in fact it's just some thinly veiled angst at losing something they already had in their preferred toy.
If they wanted to protect me, they'd go after gambling and other forms of abusive engagement and monetization strategies. They can't even begin to legislate around that. At least the some of the EU countries have started doing it, and even the EU sees no issue with the deal.

Geforce now is a tiny bit of Nvidia's operations and I really doubt they put too much emphasis on it. It has struggled a lot to get games on the service and the people in charge were probably grateful to get some positive pr in the short term. Even if MS reneged, it would affect like 0.1% of their revenues

And cloud "monopoly" is the whole crux of the CMA's argument considering they already found there is no console SLC, so that's why it doesn't make sense.
Trepang 2 is an awful name for a game that I will play in the near future.
Still need to wrap up Zelda. Starfield, Cyberpunk DLC, LSD trip Mario and the MGS collection have me fully booked for the rest of the year.

Not that should be a surprise, it's obvious that cloud is a major potential growth market for Microsoft. Why would they spend $70bn to prop up their failed hardware business? The strength of their gaming division is in gamepass, and the easiest way to grow gamepass beyond its current audience will be cloud gaming. No more need to rely on xbox or gaming PC ownership to get subscribers.

But now it’s temporarily ok because they gotta play nice with regulators.
By LFMartins86 Go To PostBooty explained the context, that email was from 2019 when NVIDIA was putting Microsoft games on GeForce Now without talking with Microsoft. It’s an aside, but I fucking hated that they had to ask permission. They were games that the user already owned, GFN could only stream your library. Enough game pubs got pissy that you could play their games on a rented cloud machine and ruined the premise
