I feel like I’m in the twilight zone where everyone is complaining about too many game and all see is a sea of meh … including the fucking Zelda game I knowingly talked myself into the hype on lol

Pick one, all of this stuff will be on sale in a few weeks anyway, there’s too much out.
May I suggest picking Diablo 4. There’s too much content you won’t need anything else tbh.

I’m prolly gonna grab it … once I finish these damn temples lol
I don't care about planet docking being a cutscenes but I am a bit disappointed that entering buildings requires a loading screen for Starfield.

By inky Go To Postwooden's girl got better taste than himHuh?
Between the last boss of the Horizon DLC and FF16....It's crazy how other games are doing epic scale better than God of War.
That’s what I need to do finish the expansion of horizon … man whew glad that’s there … totally forgot
man i really lost all interest in avowed when they said it was in the pillars universe....
can't wait to be chased through the streets by avlora one more time lol

By Rob Go To Postwas pillars really that badpillars 1 and 2 are great games. the world they're in though is just..... not something you find yourself engaged in after a while. while there's plenty to explore and everything is well written, it is a DREARY fucking place. and everything you come across is some form of objectively terrible. its just not engaging after a while and why, even though i like pillars 2 a lot, i don't replay it.
and im not against grim worlds at all. shit, tyranny is arguably worse - but thing about tyranny is that the player is actively driving a lot of change and leaving an imprint on the game that keeps you tied in. its entirely different when YOU are the catalyst.
pillars is basically fantasy walking dead to me
By Rob Go To Postwas pillars really that badNo, and PoE2 was even better. The world / lore and the whole souls angle was very cool I thought, but also pretty thoroughly explored in both games, so I'm hoping Avowed will veer in a different direction.

By Rob Go To Postwas pillars really that badGood games, but the worlds really felt like someone's custom D&D campaign. Actually having it in 3D might help it so we'll see

Whew. Nice. I still have plenty of stuff to unlock too.

I liked diablo 1 and 2, but I'm not paying blizzard 60 euros for a game like.
By Rob Go To Postwas pillars really that badNot at all. The first game was a bit slow, a bit cumbersome and lore heavy but it was very interesting and detailed. It really found its footing with the expansions. White March Pt. I and II are legit great CRPG goodness.
The second game is kinda bonkers in how expansive to the world it was and how different of an approach it took. It's more classic RPG, it isn't systemic and free like Larian's games, or balls to the wall customizable and surprising as the Pathfinder games, it's much more classic isometric infinity engine stuff, and has a better sense of place to it. Also, the combat and variety were improved from the first, which was kind of a weak point.
The Pillars universe is very compelling imo. It's not as colorful, light toned or MMOy as the showcase would have you believe. But I will admit it was not a good reveal. Obsidian's strengths have never been graphics or world size, but characters, choices and depth with companions and factions. I'm definitely bummed out about the very limited choices for the player character, I don't mind that it isn't a Skyrim like, expansive open world; hub based is very fine with me as long as the depth is there.
I think it will come out OK, even great. Show less of the combat and skellies faffing about in low poly areas, and show conversations, companions and quest choices for their next dive.

short.
By masud Go To PostYeah what a crazy outlier opinion. LolI understand the hype when it came out but man the game is tedious af.
Dead world, pretty bad characters and story. Puzzles range from amazing to wtf and combat would have been fun if not for the weapon system being the dumbest thing ever in Zelda.
Not a horrible game but if it wasn't Zelda would it be a GOAT game?
Honestly I don't know, I suspect that it being a Zelda game would make some people like it more and some people like it less. I personally got over 200 hours out of it (which is the most I've played a video game in almost 20 years) and I don't think it was because of the IP.
I didn’t even play Zelda games before BOTW. I get the criticisms, mostly. I mean I’ll die before I agree that weapon durability is a bad thing. It’s one of the few aspects that make the combat encounters interesting.
The main thing I enjoyed about it though was how open the exploration was. Before BOTW, I hadn’t played a game that felt the same to explore.
Since then, Elden Ring and TOTK are the only games that have that same feel to them. TOTK is just a massive improvement overall on BOTW though.

And if you thought the story was bad and the world was dead in botw you might actually like the new one. There's quests and NPCs everywhere you go, it's a little overwhelming honestly. You can tell the devs played Red Dead redemption.
Oh it is for sure, I think I just played botw too much and the map is seared into my brain, I'm having to fight the occasional feeling that I've seen everything already in order to get to the new stuff which is definitely great.

Part of the payoff of exploring a wide, dead world is to get drip and gear and having the shit break instantly is unacceptable.

I'm not sure you'll like it if you *hated* BOTW.
They did make durability super fun now with the new powers. 💯 on BoTW's exploration, you do get cool shit in TOTK at least.

This is honestly a reason I’m thinking of just putting it down because unlike red dead, this extra shit ain’t fun for me nor is the story compelling but I have a hard time just running to and end.
Exploration is still favorite part but
I really wanna like the depths because they’re rad, but the light pods are tied to the fucking shrines I absolutely loathe. I mean it. Shrines are so bad lol
It’s such a weird game for me cause there’s so much there I do like a ton (exploration, fusion) but what I don’t like I really don’t like (shrines / lame copy paste enemies for basic combat)
I’m 50/50 on temples so far. But I do think temples and bosses are better in tears than breath from what I’ve played
I think the building thing was a super gimmick that added nothing to the actual game /shrug
I liked it more when I played it like the witness. A playground of puzzles, so gods help if you hate them lol.
Its okay Fender the expansion is coming

I just think there’s far too many of them and BoTW kinda ruined em before I started
