Schreier saying it's been cut down to a small team to reassess it while the bulk of the team has moved onto other things.
In a year it will be quietly brushed under the carpet, imo.
FFS.

fucking LOL @ Bungie's scepticism leading to it being ko'd. That has to be an extraordinary exaggeration.

"As part of that push it asked another of its video-game studios, Seattle-based Bungie, to evaluate the games across its portfolio. Bungie raised questions about the The Last of Us multiplayer project's ability to keep players engaged for a long period of time, which led to the reassessment."
From the Bloomberg article.
Was the original TLOU multiplayer even good? The SP controlled like cheeks. I’m still convinced that it lives on purely through mid thirty dudes connecting with the story and raw fanboyism.

it was good fun, but the performance was so fucking horrible, that it was hard to bother continuing to play.

Factions was excellent until they ruined it with the DLC weapons. Almost as good as Gears 3 when it comes to console MP games.

Would have been delighted with an expanded retread of the first Factions, that was out of the question though when they still hadn't said anything about it six months after TLOU2 came out.
Fuck knows what they've been making, or what those knobends at Bungie wanted to see from it.

By jjasper Go To PostProbably told by Bungie their factions live service game was trashtoo predictable.
Unfortunately they seem to have the Midas touch on keeping players locked in and paying for years.
Maybe Sony just got burned by spending too much money on too many failed multiplayer modes/games, especially in the PS3 gen and there's no more room for ones that might not have legs.

Thought Boltgun needed a map at first, because it has some weird layouts, but then I realized it just loops to the keys and door, and what it needed was just level design.
By C4-621 Go To PostRate this KibnerrThe base is a 9/10 and the robit probably a 7/10. Scores can be fluent depending on how posable it all is.
💀
If the scale of it at the end is accurate compared to the game boxes, I'd put the value of the robot figure at ~40USD and the base at ~50USD.
The base is likely cheaper to make but much more expensive to ship
Oh, I should mention that Bandai figures are usually among the best in terms of detail, color separation, engineering, and posability. Well, their model kits are, at least, and I assume their figures can't be far behind.
By Hixx Go To PostFactions was excellent until they ruined it with the DLC weapons. Almost as good as Gears 3 when it comes to console MP games.Exactly. The new guns killed the game for me as well, everyone went for that insane shotgun with insane acuracy, range and damage. Not the first time ND put pay to win guns into their multiplayer games (did that for Uncharteds too).
People still play TLOU's multiplayer today. I miss it badly. If Bungie say it's gonna be bad, it's good news for me. I played Destiny 1 A FUCKING LOT for about 5-6 months and got so burned out of it that I never played a Destiny game after that. If they say it's not gonna hold people, I say just release it.
Guess it's done, I need to move on...
But playing 4x4 with friends, revolver + sniper on lakeside/bill's city, pre DLC weapons
I need it

I'm sure its a different company but my Malenia figure is sensational
Good, stick to what you do best, epic single player experiences.
Also, you’re telling me havens game passed the bungie test and factions couldn’t?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Probably broke off more than they could chew and tried to make a PvPvE BR/Extraction experience on a single massive map.
That's my guess to what it was too. Wouldn't be surprised if they fucked it by trying to link it to the story too much.
Annoying since the combat options in TLOU2 should transfer perfectly for PvP, and I already enjoyed it with the much more basic combat and movement in the first game

Kill the MP and move everyone back to the single player game.
Good call Neil.
Edit: reading that Bloomberg article, it sounds like whatever monetization they had planned, Bungie deemed them to be unfit to support a long term live service title.
Since they've scaled down the team, it sounds like it's going to just be rolled into Last of us 3 instead of its own thing.
