By C4-621 Go To PostNintendo games rarely do for me, they're reviewed by a very particular kind of journalist. Can you elaborate what you mean by this? The game has a 97 currently… it seems to be loved by all kinds of game journalists, like Elden Ring was.

For example, the one who reviewed it for IGN/Gamespot is the one who generally reviews Nintendo's games like Kirby etc, not the games I like. Elden Ring, sure.
Some dude has Kirby plushies. Cautious optimism..

It'd be impossible to give it lower scores than Breath given it outright exists to improve upon the worst aspects of that game.
Breath was overrated, Tears looks legit

I don't think Nintendo's games are overhyped at all, they're exactly as advertised for their fans. I'm just not the target audience for most of them!
But then again, Fire Emblem and Xenoblade were both GOATed and Zelda is always good
By Perfect Blue Go To PostFire Emblem Engage is still GOTY for me.
From what I hear gameplay is great but story is so bad that it's not playable or something
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostFrom what I hear gameplay is great but story is so bad that it's not playable or somethingIt’s pretty bad but no worse than the average video game or JRPG, IMO.
Actually thought that 6.1 review or whatever it was is well written, and well argued (and correlates with a lot of BOTW’s flaws too. Music WAS a killer!)
Looking forward to playing it. Liked BOTW a lot. But yeah, not expecting a 10/10 for me, Clive. Just didn’t scratch my open world itch the way I like it. Personal preferences.

Unless you can’t skip through the dialogue I don’t see why a bad story would stop you from playing a game

Every single Mario has exactly the same story and no one gives a shit
By Rob Go To PostUnless you can’t skip through the dialogue I don’t see why a bad story would stop you from playing a gameDon’t get it either.
Only dialogue or text in Engage that matters is the mission goal. That’s it. Story is inconsequential to the sensational gameplay.
I’ve enjoyed the intro a lot, but the combat is still the combat from BOTW + some weapon gimmicks. I’m really sad they didn’t tighten those mechanics up. It still doesn’t feel great, and it’s nowhere near on par with its contemporaries by that metric.
The new powers are fun as fuck though

I'm just happy I have another Fire Emblem game to play so soon tbh 😭
Aw man.
The new powers are everything I wanted Nuts & Bolts to be

Thanks for saving me $$$
Nah I’ll prolly still get it lol
By Eternity Go To PostBelda at it again, can do no wrong. The number of games that could release with basically the same map with no repercussions has to be what 5 at the most?
Dark Descent looks potentially cool but its a bad sign they haven't shown anything since the reveal

By Perfect Blue Go To PostHaters mad Nintendo is the GOAT rather than there being a grand conspiracy overrating their gameslol wut? 😂

I'm sure diablo 4 will be alright but man I just miss marvel heroes. Brevik at his peak and diablo 1 was my first game on windows ( and my first time seeing titties)
By Laboured Go To PostSilent Hill 2 finally loads with RTX Remix. Could be nice. What does this mean?
I am still running a PC from 2007, with 2007 technology.
RTX Remix basically injects path tracing (so RTGI, RT reflections, RT shadows etc.) into old games (DX9). I think it also allows users to seamlessly remaster and replace all of the old textures. It would most certainly not work with a 2007 PC.

If the gameplay holds up then 5000. People are still playing the same old as shit counter strike maps because they are good.
But it is mad that Nintendo can turn glorified DLC into the highest rated game on Opencritic

"OMG this game changed my life and saved me from an eternal stay in hell"
"I can't move the analog stick forward without bursting into tears by the pixelated beauty on my screen"
"See that stutter, you can go there"
-Nintendo fans/journalists circa 2023
Spoilers or whatever but there is literally a whole new underground world as big as Hyrule as well as the sky islands.
Idk man, I feel like if it was doing Nu Graphix(tm) people would just treat it like the sequel it clearly is.

By Laboured Go To PostSpoilers or whatever but there is literally a whole new underground world as big as Hyrule as well as the sky islands. As long as there are different things to do and the poop seeds and shrines are in different locations it shouldn’t really be a huge deal. I am going to be 100% honest it has been long enough since I have played it that other than general directional stuff I won’t remember anything about the map.

I mean Spider-Man 2 will have the same map I assume and it shouldn’t be a big deal.

Yeah, it is one. I mean I was worried. People are now saying "haha people thought this was going to be a full price DLC", but Nintendo decided to make that their marketing tactic until the final trailer a month ago.
Not sure why they thought that was a good idea, because it's obvious that it is indeed a full sequel now.
By Laboured Go To PostThis is how I feel when I read Yurt's posts.

Bruh that game is going to get dogged on hard “reused assets” “same city” “reused animations” “main quest has an objective marker”
You know it. But it’s all good who cares?
