The MTA was quite nice to get your bearings and travel around the city. Some stops didn't make sense in transers but that's alright looking at the complete picture of subway lines. The gridlike structure of made it very easy to travel.
BUT WHY THE FUCK WERE THERE SUBWAY STATIONS WHERE UPTOWN/DOWNTON were on separate check in stations. No transfer walkways within. Are you guys stupid?

By Pac-2 Go To PostOh, see, there's the misunderstanding, museums are run by the dirty commie Euro bastards.Funny you say so but the worst run museums were on a 'Merrican schedule. Only the Moma felt like a TRUE museum and that was awesome. It had a regular ass queue (and a security check which is weird as fuck but I guess this is America), and a garderobe . Afterwards you the customer had free reigns over the museum.
I did enjoy the Met and American Natural History Museum but for the fact you're shit out of luck after entering the museums. You better know what you're looking for or else you might get lost within these massive structures.
PRO TIP: take the day off and wander around the museums. Two to three hours is not enough. Just wander around and grab some lunch on your way.
It's huge.

By turkey bacon Go To PostSo I understand it's the most busiest time of the year. It's the Holiday season BUT what's the point of reserving a slot for entry to museums if there's a queue anyway???Yeaaaa you should never come during the holidays to do those things. We avoid Manhattan like the plague on the weekends during the holidays. Going out for dinner/drinks on weekdays is the only thing that's not crazy.
Queueing up for a 09:30 timeslot and getting in at 11:00. Come on…
Had some guy pee on the Subway cart. To my honest to god opinion you've got it worse with the homeless population. It's a pity. I'm not used to the MTA (Police?) presence but it all felt a little derelict to me. There was a real sense of reuse with everything being decades alive.
Let's just say that I've never seen a passenger PISS on the FUCKING train cart what the fuck.

Least you didn't sit in some urine. Protip for anyone on our public transit, hand test first before you plop your ass down.

The lines (and crowds) ended up worse than normal but in the end I ended up seeing the places I wanted to see. Nonetheless I wish the organisation was a lil' more organised...

I witnessed someone pulling his dick out on the subway. If it weren't for our advanced knowledge of the situation we'd have ended up in his urine. :D
glad you're good BA
and yeah utah believes in upper middle class snack/drink places. its weird but dope

In the end of the day a local News bulletin of the Opioid epidemic did explain a lot. It's just sad all around and explains the local homeless population in Subway stations and on stoops/porches.
Like I wouldn't say it's THAT much different over here, but it was still a difference if you get what I'm saying.
I'd say it's the expectation of travelling to NYC (THE safe haven of industry/capitalism/money and yet there's this amount of poverty.

MTA advertisement were about teaching in Maine and that felt very appealing is all I'm about to say about my time in NY.

It's way worse all over the west coast.
I don't know how to cope if it was my regular 9-5. Could've been bad luck but it was worse than my regular fare in Europe.
I've probably seen the worst of it over here in the Netherlands and NYC just feels at least two decades behind. And that's no surprise with the disparity between pop. disparity.
Trains ran on time, Stations were alirght yada yada. Had a lovely time cycling through central park. The USA is a place of contradictions. Honestly it seems like a perfect place to go on a road trip. The less you need to interact with systems the better.

By DY_nasty Go To Postthe us is basically warhammer 40k present daySounds pretty reasonable.
By domino Go To Postit was jarring the first time i went to San Diego and apparently thats light compared to SF.LA, Portland, Seattle, all of them equal or worse than SF
By reilo Go To PostLA, Portland, Seattle, all of them equal or worse than SFSF was different than Portland for me because people walking their dogs in SF were happy to let their dogs shit on the sidewalk and just keep it moving. Also, there were times where it was impossible to tell if the old poop outside a hotel was from a dog or a homeless person.
Spent like three hours working on this third-party lighting kit for a Lego car, and all I got done was two headlights and the light over the rear license plate. So many wires. Four each for the headlights and one for the rear light. And such tiny plugs. I need a louvre to see things better. smh
Still have the rear taillights, front and rear blinkers, and an interior light left to do. I'm sure it will look great when done, but, oof. It's hard to work with things this small.

By reilo Go To PostLA, Portland, Seattle, all of them equal or worse than SFSeattle fucking went down hill the last 15 years or so
I was embarrassing showing my kid a city full of tweakers and homeless
Didn't encounter much in the way of homelessness in SF, but LA, wew. Felt like a feature rather than a problem.
