Remember sitting next to my first real crush when we went to watch Titanic with the rest of the school class. It’s also the lady’s favorite film and she has made me watch it around 5 times already. It is what it is, fate be like that.

Hans Zimmer is certainly top in my book but Williams has such an extensive body of work.
I remember watching The Patriot and seeing his name pop up and just knowing that the OST was going to be great.
Just an amazing catalogue of Ws in my book, untouchable as of now but when Zimmer is on fire, you know it.

Shin Ultraman was fun. I'm really into Anno's company slapping 60s music onto modern films though. That shit bops.
By LFMartins86 Go To PostSince I talked a Blumhouse movie.
Only found out about this today but I am up for it.
Kevin Williamson was the "guy" for teen horror in the late 90s, early 00's.
The Scream movies, I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Faculty, H20, Teaching Mrs. Tingle.
Not always great movies but all very entertaining.
Out oan t' distros.
Tom Cruise thinking he's hot shit with his 'biggest stunt in cinema history' but this dude just runs across crocodiles like it's nothing
By WoodenLung Go To Postoh i wasnt going to. the question was if i was going to waste my internetEhhhh, not sure I can endorse that either.

By Laboured Go To PostOut oan t' distros.Watched it and it was alright. Besides COVID as a plot point, it's not very original and a pretty basic slasher but it's competently made and at brisk 78 minutes (not counting credits) it never drags.
One of the things that actually impressed me was how relentless the killer was, that tweet about being a long chase scene is not wrong.
Plot is kind of predictable but also a bit bonkers.
It's kind of a perfect streaming movie, something to entertain you for a short time, not bad but not good.
Going into big spoilers if someone is interested in the COVID angle but not enough to watch the movie.
The movie starts with a random young guy being stalked during a supermarket run before lockdown, lots of scenes about no toilet paper available, some random person coughing and everyone moving away, people keeping their distance.
Guy gets murdered at home and the movie moves on to two girls getting ready to quarantine at an isolated house near the lake.
Parker is the daughter of the owners of the house, Miri is her friend who wants to quarantine away before she goes back home after their university has shutdown because her father is sick and probably wouldn't survive Covid.
Miri is also studying to become a doctor so she is very strict about the guidelines while Parker is more relaxed.
They talk about Parker making out with a guy at a party a few nights before, he was on his room alone but Parker went to get him and brought him to the party (you can see where this is going).
Stuff happens, Parker's sort of boyfriend DJ appears out of nowhere, montage of them having fun, they go to sleep and then the attack starts.
DJ gets killed, long chase scene continues until Parker manages to kill their attacker and then the first plot twist happens, a second attacker comes through the door.
Another long chase scene occurs, that scene in trailer of the woman asking if Parker had a mask, she gives Parker a mask and Parker starts going to sleep as the woman announces that mask was soaked in chloroform.
Plot twist number two, there's a third attacker.
Parker is brought back to the house where Miri is hiding with a broken leg. Parker is awaken by the woman doing a nostril swab for a COVID test.
It then is revealed the motive behind the attacks.
The guy who Parker made out in the party died of COVID,
The attackers are his older brother and his parents.
They traced Parker as the one who infected the boy thanks to her Instagram post on a #FuckCovidParty.
They even traced back who infected Parker and killed him (the guy at the start of the movie).
Their justification for going after Miri and DJ is because they weren't doing quarantine alone as per the guidelines.
Parker continues to plead that she isn't infected as she has no symptoms until the test comes back positive.
Shit happens, the girls kill the other attackers and the movie ends with the police finally arriving.
Edit: kind of surprised that this is at 91% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Watched about half of The Duel. Pretty decent for what it is. Can't take Ben Afleck seriously though.
I mean, cmon. He looks like a Zoolander character

By domino Go To PostThe Menu was so funny
loved the reasons for a few of them to die. like no student loan
I quite enjoyed the menu! Not exactly great but incredibly fun to watch and I bet it was just as fun to shoot
It felt very Knives Out/Glass Onion, if that makes sense.
I'll watch Triangle of Sadness too I guess

Yeah I enjoyed The Menu too. Subtle as a sledgehammer, but knowingly so. Fiennes and Chou in particular are great. Foodies are so pretentious lol
Although I thought it was toothless at times: no consequences for the dudes being caught - I was expecting chopped off dicks served to the ladies. And Chou dying was unnecessarily shoehorned in. Guess it showed how in thrall she was to Fiennes, but not needed.
Soft 7/10

You know what…M3gan was alright. It was the film that I think Wan thought he was writing when he wrote Malignant, good thing he realised dumb horror/comedies don’t need to have a boring as fuck first and second act just to ‘subvert expectations’.
I’ll be giving it 3/5 on Letterboxd.
