Hoult would actually be a pretty good Superman. Color me intrigued.
Gunn is now watching audition tapes, and those in the mix for the role of Superman include Nicholas Hoult, David Corenswet (“Pearl”), Jacob Elordi (“Euphoria”) and Andrew Richardson (“A Call to Spy”), sources tell TheWrap.

Watched From Dusk til Dawn for the first time last night. I'll be honest, it was largely very shit. But I couldn't take my eyes off the screen once they got to the Titty Twister.
4/5 for Salma Hayek.

If you're watching FF movies for anything other than the absurd scenarios I don't know why you're bothering lmao
lmao
Dom stomping his foot and earth bending was insanity.
This fella could drive through a mudslide, with the windows open, and still walk away with the cleanest white tee and timbs with no creases. It's incredible.

I did find AIR quite funny in parts (but really just the bits that laugh at the characters) but it works really hard to make you not step back and say "hey this is a longform advert for shoes and their manufacturer".

Well if it helps, that isn't what it is. The origin of the film being made was a first time scriptwriter finding the real life story and finding it interesting so he...wrote a script.

I mean, perhaps not consciously, then, but I also know what I dun saw.
It felt like it was written by someone that had read a couple of official biographies. Like that scene at the end when they're discussing why he called it Nike and where the Swoosh came from was eye opening from a creative point of view.

To me it being a film where the characters love the brand makes sense because they're the people who literally made it, so of course they wax lyrical about it. The tone of the film doesn't really leave it open to talk about the cynical side of capitalism.
The screenwriter just thought it was an interesting story (which it was). I'd feel differently if he had any tie to Nike, but he doesn't.
His films obviously need no introduction but what Scorsese has done for film preservation and film culture is IMO even more significant than the movies he's actually made. Legend
Feel like the gore effects kinda distort the conversation and make the rest of the film's strengths a bit underappreciated.
What a movie.
What a movie.
