Off a 12M$ budget, it's probably going to be profitable by Monday.
Horror is still good business at the box office. I saw a tweet the other day that said that Smile was the only original IP to do over 100M$ in the US between September and December.
M3gan might do well over that number. Great movie. Much better than that Smile shit.
I've only seen the first shrek. This new puss in boots feels standalone, didn't think I was missing any context.

Bueno

Haven’t watched them in years, but i remember really enjoying 1 and 2. Don’t remember 3,4 or Puss in Boots being anything special.
None of the Shrek/Shrek universe movies are good
So this latest movie would break the streak it seems. Spider-verse singlehandedly saving big budget American animation
Btw should Mario count as anime? Seems like Nintendo of Japan ran the show here, even if all the production itself is western

By Old King Rob Go To PostWatched InterstellarIs it because every other movie will now pale in comparison to it?
Wished I didn’t
Thought Interstellar was his weakest film and even prefer Tenet for the most part. Still a decent watch though.

I'll watch anything, no problem, but back in that era "family" movies would only come here dubbed, and I ain't paying to watch animation voiced and adapted by televisa's comedians. Afterwards it became so popular and memefied that you get the idea even if you've never watched it so I never bothered.
M3gan with a 30M$ opening weekend, almost 3 times the budget.
Sequel apparently is already in the works.

Haven't seen it, don't believe the positivity for a second. Bet it's complete shite.

Looking forward to M3gan.
Was on wiki there and didn't realise David Gordon Green is making an Exorcist movie for Blumhouse this year. Sequel to the original, like H2018.

Two of my friends have seen it and loved it, but they enjoy that brand of dumb horror film like Malignant. I’d imagine you would like the film if you’re into that kind of stuff.

Downloading the 18gb distro for the rewatch
Watched Beau Travail last night. Recently named as the 7th best film of all time in Sight and Sound.
It sucked.
I can only assume most viewers fell asleep and only woke up at the end of the film, caught the ending, and decided it must have been a masterpiece.
