I hope the plan is to stop making the movies at the first book because lol if they keep this train running
Otherwise, every subsequent chapter is a bit like....

I don't think I've ever been more disappointed in a movie than judgment night after 100s if not thousands of listens of the album
By reilo Go To PostmoistHis hope was to do Paul's Story.

So the first 2 books in 3 movies.

By Lupercal Go To PostHis hope was to do Paul's Story. That makes sense. Because Children of Dune is funky in the end -- there's lots of good stuff until the metamorphosis.

But if it's Paul's story, that technically ends in Children of Dune, so wouldn't it cover the first 3 books?

imagine sy posting john wick is everything wrong with cinema then having goosebumps at a transformers trailer
By reilo Go To PostI love big giant CG battles on an empty flat field. It makes me want to spend $20 to sit in a movie theater for over 2 hours. Riveting stuff.

Watching Triple Frontier
Dumb army guys hesitant to carry out a mission unless meticulously planned, only to instantly ignore the plan at first chance is one of the dumbest tropes
Idk if it’s really how they are, but it makes for headache inducing movie. The first half an hour of this movie was pointless.

By s y Go To PostIs the 4th pic a set photo or does Scorsese have a speaking role?Behind the scenes photo.
By Lupercal Go To PostIs Bay still doing it?The Transformers movie? No, it's Steven Caple Jr., The director of Creed 2.
Alien and Aliens on the big screen the other day, and The Dark Knight tonight.
What a one-two the aliens were. Forgot how funny the second one is.
TDK drags in its last act a bit. Still the only Heath Ledger film I can remember. Think he was in the Brothers Grimm too.

And they want to start filming in a month. This movie is going to be a mess or it's getting delayed.
Finally saw The Whale. When he stood up from the couch it was really inspiring for every father out there. No matter how hard it is you have to get your ass off the couch, if not for you then for your child.
Genius.
Genius.
Beau Is Afraid(2023)
- Ari Aster's got some big balls because I doubt he ever gets this type of budget again. Glad he didn't puss out and make something unremarkable like Eggars did with The Northman. God that was disappointing.
- Theatre screen was slightly fucked. There was a blue tint like if you selected the cool setting on a TV.
- fucking hilarious movie. I knew from the short, trailer and portion of the script I read that it would be funny but parts of this had me almost crying.
- first impression is that it's my favorite Ari Aster movie. I'll need to watch it a few more times though.
- As expected, visually stunning with impressive shots and camera work and editing throughout.
- Phoenix was good. The supporting cast especially Pati LePone was just as impressive.
- 1st act was perfect.
- Like, I don't think there's a single second of the 1st act that isn't executed flawlessly.
- The phone conversation with the delivery guy was incredible. Absolute all timer. Things going from morbid to LOL seem like such a hard thing to write. This movie has it in spades.
- I can see why Aster/A24 scrubbed the short film he did off the internet. Some of the stuff is 1:1.
- 2nd act went on too long and is clearly the weakest of the entire movie. That might have the point but man the forest bit just kept going and going.
-Enjoyed the Nathan Lane family section a lot though. The girl that played the daughter did a great job. Van scene was hilarious.
-Theatre was cold too, fell asleep for about 3 minutes near the end of the 2nd act.
-The visuals were nice though. Great use of rotoscoping.
- The 3rd act was almost as good as the 1st
- it's not as tight as the 1st's but it's the funniest section of the movie.
- I'm glad I never finished reading the leaked script. Talk about shock factor lmmmmmaaaaoo
-How did A24 sign off on some of the shit in this act
- ESPECIALLY the ending. Everybody(all 8 of us) in the theater laughed at that, even the ones who thought this was the worst movie they'd ever seen.
All in all, probably one of my favorite movies ever. I can't wait for the YouTube reaction videos.

By n8 dogg Go To PostFirst half of Barbarian was great. Got very cliche and meh after that.Yeah, that's how I feel about that film.
Honestly preferred dumb shit like Malignant and M3gan to it.
