You weren’t kidding. So soon, what a nice surprise.
By Crusher Go To PostYou weren’t kidding. So soon, what a nice surprise. There’s been a cam version for a couple of weeks but who watches it at that shitty quality lol
John Wick was fire, gonna be hard to go back to CG heavy movies after that and Top Gun. Got a new king of body count too, Commando used to be my favorite "He killed a whole state" movie, but this got the crown now.

Just no. Stop doing this hollywood.
By Kuma Go To Posti love Scorsese but 4hrs is too much
Dumb as rocks posts. A good film is never too long, a bad film is never short enough.
A film can be both good and overlong. 4 hour Scorcese movie makes it pretty likely imo
Watched Predestination earlier, it's fine.

Been thinking about gangst/mobster films.
How come they fell out?
Also, coming age films that were so popular in the kid 80s to the 90s.

Larger budget ones are rare but still a lot of smaller budget ones being made, such as:
Lady Bird
Eighth Grade
The Florida Project
Call Me By Your Name
Moonlight
Licorice Pizza
Booksmart

Coming of age movies are still around. They are just on the indie market.
Mobster movie is a victim of fatigue I presume.
Speaking of mob movies , watching Goodfellas in hd since I hadn't seen it since I was a kid on a cry and come on bruh,I'm supposed to buy ray liotta and Lorraine braccho are in their early 20s?

It's a shame they're not bigger cultural hits like say Breakfast club.
I suppose we went through the YA period with Harry Pottes and Hunger Games.

All the ones Ive watched on there been good.
Aftersun as well last year, which imo was the best film of the year.
Petite Maman, Waves, and The Quiet Girl as well very good from last year. Boyhood, Shiva Baby and I think Jojo Rabbit could even be counted as one as well. Fabelmans is also kind of, no? Big budget ,just a bad film.

By Perfect Blue Go To PostWatched Bodies Bodies Bodies last night… meh. Enjoyed the ending twist but that's it.
why would you do that.
but yeah, the ending actually was slightly funny. but that was the one redeeming thing about the film.
Air getting bananas reviews
Matt Damon playing the most Italian man you've ever seen IRL, sure
Phil Knight a hunk tho?

Creed III was very disappointing. It started promising and got me hyped early on but it just kept moving in the wrong direction. Visually inconsistent, with some really boring set work at times. The best parts are the father daughter moments that unfortunately take a bit of a back seat just so we can have more been there done that husband wife moments that were so boring. Majors is a highlight but the rivalry doesnt reach the potential it could, and Adonis is just a bit too perfect.
Better than II but the first is still clearly the best one in my mind.

By Crusher Go To PostThe problem is your attention span. Time is relative. If only. I'll watch a lot of stuff by myself cause other people wanna talk through it. For me a film is a journey. I love Apocalypse Now but even that drags in parts. Movies are seldom great after a certain amount of time, the pacing goes to absolute shit and they get horribly redundant. I think a lot of movies lately could be better shorter, especially if it's a cape flick.
By i can get you a toe Go To PostWhat does this have to do with film. You got all this attention span for menial tasks that you've done a 12874238472384947238934572 times before but complain about movies longer than 2 hours I don't wanna hear it
You'd have to drudge that up cause I like loads of films over 2 hours long, if I moaned about anything it would be cape flicks running past that time. Still don't know what shooting shit up in a game I got gear in has to do with my film tastes.
By WoodenLung Go To Postwhy would you do that.Wife wanted to watch a dumb horror movie lol so we saw that was available.
but yeah, the ending actually was slightly funny. but that was the one redeeming thing about the film.
By WoodenLung Go To Postgood films can be too long for the cinema. MAKE MANDATORY PEE BREAKS IF A FILM IS OVER 2 HOURSFr. Bring back the intermission.
Finally got around to watching Del Toro’s version of Pinocchio on Netflix tonight and really liked it. Visually beautiful and I find stop-motion so fascinating as a way of animation, it’s more impressive to me than modern CGI
Just started watching Witness
These are the most stupid murderers I've ever seen, didn't even make a cursory attempt to make sure the stalls were empty beforehand and wouldn't have after if the kid didn't make a noise. Harrison Ford's effortless cool back then is still a hell of a sight after all these years.
