Been wanting to rewatch Evil Dead 2013 for a while and the trailer for Rises just pushed me to do it tonight.
That final battle is so freaking good, some incredible looking scenes with the fire and rain.
Watched the extended cut, didn't think I've watched it before.
The more gory scenes are a few seconds longer, there's a bit more dialogue and a couple extra scenes, no big changes but it's still the better cut.
Pretty good reboot, it goes hard on some scenes.
Wish we got to see more of Mia in the franchise but I'm okay if Rises is a completely new story with no connection to rest of the franchise.

Watched The Menu. Looked up the director afterwards: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Mylod
Interesting career. Going from directing episodes of Shooting Stars, The Fast Show, and Ali G Indahouse to Game of Thrones and Succession

Saw banshees of inisherin. Am depressed now. That's it
edit: oh, it was an allegory for large scale ideological conflicts. still sad!

Had a few hours no knowing what to do, at my work today. So put on the new Matilda and it was actually pretty decent. Impressive stuff at times. But they're appropriating obesity by having both the principal and the he fat boy wearing fat suits, instead of having real fatties do parkour so 1/5.
It was. But i mean, still a story about those two as well. Doesn't take away from their personal story at all imo

There's a bit of that, but I think it's mostly just a pretty simple break up movie
I can't buy that Banshees is about ideological conflict. The lads break up for petty, pathetic reasons. The Irish civil war happened because a fifth of the country was surrendered to the British and the new Irish state kept the King of England as the head of state.
Not that I'm bitter or anything!

I just thought it was a film about nothing.

I watched Bullet Train.
Was the perfect film to just have something on. Was completely ridiculous.
I usually can get down with crappy, middling action films, but I really did not like Bullet Train. Think it tried to be too hard to be edgy. Real Lucky Number Slevin energy to it.
Feels like Bullet Train’s original script was a Domino spec Deadpool spin off. But I remember somebody saying it wasn’t, which still doesn’t make sense to me.

By n8 dogg Go To PostOh they changed the name
Far worse name, and very weird posters
I'm expecting a bit of a mess....but I'm very excited
Yesterday and I am looking forward to it. I don't get the it's not an Evil Dead movie because the franchise has two movies that are pure horror and two that are horror comedy, it's never been just one thing.
