By Yurtlicious Go To PostI actually don't mind this
I thought Decision to Leave was fucking stupid but the two leads were mesmerizing so I enjoyed it
but how beautiful was it on top of that?

For the longest time I actually thought I've watched this movie because I vividly remember downloading it
Memories of Murder🔥
The dropskicks were fucking killing me

I watched cocaine bear and the film looked dark.
Even in broad day light shots.
The night scene in the cave was exceptionally dark

There's nothing like watching a movie that made you feel feelings and then go on letterboxd to see people dismissing it with some of the worst banter of all time.
Haven't seen Triangle of Sadness. Square was mid.

Seriously everything is so dark now
I mean I know why but surely there's a solution

As a test I went on the page for Schindler's List and sure enough, one of the top upvoted reviews is a quip about his horoscope.

but then you see a 2.5 star review from a good friend for a movie you adore and it hurts.

Lowery though. Should know better. Pete’s Dragon is one of the best kids’ flicks in recent years.

Guy who did the green knight and a ghost story. Will watch. Inshallah
By Laboured Go To PostI hope this one is brightly lit.
hey what a surprise. gans claims to be a big fan all the time, and then proceeds to change just about everything he can, just like the first silent hill film.
I’m not huge into horror / horror like thrillers but I did really enjoy The Black Phone which is currently available to stream on Prime.
Ethan hawke is creepy. My only real complaint is the fathers abusive role seemed unnecessary to the story

More I think about it one of the worst horror movies I've seen in a long time, even by low-tier Blumhouse standards. If someone told me an AI had written it I'd believe them.
Just watched The Whale. Pretty good. Good to see more of Hong Chau and hope she starts getting more work in the future. Fraser was good. It really felt like he was the weight of the character, not just putting on a fat suit and calling it a day. Must have been hard to film to portray a character constantly out of breath for weeks on end.

Wasn't enamoured with Dunkirk or Interstellar, but enjoyed them. Tenet was bad enough that I have no interest in keeping up with Oppenheimer. Hopefully it's good, wouldn't be at all surprised if it's not.
Two bad films out of the nine that I remember isn't a terrible record, but those two have been proper shit and none of the ones I've really liked have been recent.
Vaguely recall watching Insomnia when it was quite new, can't remember if it's something worth revisiting. Regardless, he could retire tomorrow and The Prestige, Memento, Inception and the first two Batmans would be a decent enough legacy in my eyes.
