This is the most optimistic I've been about United's future since Ferguson retired. The Ole resurgence was fantastic, but was always caveated by the fact we knew he wasn't a great coach and was riding on the crest of a wave.
Ten Hag is a proven 'modern' coach who knows how to develop a squad to play progressive football. He has started to drill competent attacking and defensive structures into the side and they're now taking effect. The improvement over last season is astonishing.
What's even more remarkable is that we're clearly nowhere near the side Ten Hag wants us to be either. He wanted a midfielder that could receive the the ball in deep areas and break forwards with his carrying. Instead we got Casemiro, an excellent DM, but not at all like the profile of midfielder he envisaged. But Ten Hag adjusted his tactics and has made that work to our advantage. He also wanted a more traditional 9 to play passes to, but has made concessions and focussed on Rashford and Martial's strengths to give us some sort of attacking outlet up front.
The biggest hurdle to overcome now is the ownership. We need sustained investment in the squad over the next few seasons to develop into the managers ideal vision.

By Hixx Go To PostMy first thought was Stokes but when ff posted Stephen Ireland I thought that was a #fact. But yeah it's confirmed to be Stokes.I thought of Ireland for a minute, but Stokes's dad owned a pub that had been raided by police on suspicion of gun running and for threats of intimidation and assault. The family is also believed to have ties to the Provisional IRA.
Fuckin' hell, he cost us £2m 16 years ago. He was absolutely shit.

Chelsea have signed 3 players already in the Winter window?! That's about as many winter signings as City have done in the past decade or so. I'm jealous of all the fun.

I would say stay outside of London but then the trains can't be trusted to take you in so depends on where she is working/studying really. Give me an area.

Brad De Jesus is amazing. Kind of want to change my name to Emil De Jesus now.

Amazing how Portugal watched Martinez ruin a golden generation with Belgium and thought “yeah, let’s get him!”

LMAO congrats martins, rvy, crusher and co yeah. Santos maybe was trash but wouldn't trade him for this fraud.
Amazing job from Martinez though, managed to get himself a better team. At this rate he'll get the France job once Deschamps gets the sack after 2024.

By Willkiller Go To PostStan hasn’t attacked someone that bad since Ulrika
Fucking hell Stan
Martinez is shit for sure, and I'm sure a more competent manager could have done a bit better. However Belgium 'golden generation' was always at best a golden shower. Lots of issues with lots of shit defenders and star players who mostly have the (big) handicap of being Belgian and always infighting.
By Willkiller Go To PostI could see it happening if there was still a pool of elite, potentially available European managers out there, there just isn't though. Klopp probably won't leave and even if he did I don't think he'd take it, Pep definitely isn't going anywhere, Ancelotti is retiring when his time at Madrid has run it's course, Simeone isn't a manager for oil clubs, Mourinho is done, everyone is waiting for Zidane to do it with either France or a club other than Madrid.
Fucking hell Stan
Then you've got your Enriques and Allegris, winning records but not so special that it's worth fucking off a manager doing as good a job as Howe is.

You could see our owners, who have been surprisingly remakably sensible since our takeover, sacking Howe as soon as he....gets us top 4?
