You have done very well. I am guessing most likely you either got 12, Quarter Cask, or Select.
Quarter Cask is my absolute favourite whisky to drink on the regular, and I always have a bottle of 12 at home. Select is a fine dram too.
My absolute favourite distillery. I have drank a out 33 different versions of Laphroaig whisky from their official bottlings and independent bottlings. I have a few bottles I plan to open when I am in London for Christmas, and there are a few whisky bars I am going to just for tasting their drams.
Laphroaig is a distillery on the island of Islay off the west coast. There are currently only eight distilleries currently in operation there. The whisky is usually a lot stronger tasting than the mainland. Very smokey and peaty.
They use bog fires in the early stages of the whisky that gives it the smokiness.
I once saw it described as ‘the whisky that people think about what whisky tastes like.’
