Sounds to me like you watched shitty World Cups growing up. I remember as a 9 year old boy that I knew Andrés Escobar was dead after his own goal against the U.S. I remember Gheorghe Hagi's and Florin Răducioiu in Romania. Oleg Salenko scoring a ton of goals for RUSSIA not CCCP. Stoichkov's Bulgaria. Thomas Ravelli and Sweden. Italy barely scraping by. Cameroon's disappointment in Roger Milla's farewell tournament. Argentina vs Nigeria. Alexis Lala's awful hair. Klinsmann and Lothar Matthäus for Germany. Marco Etcheverry's brave Bolivia, Jorge Campos' bright shirts in goal for México. Maradona the fat washed up cokehead getting kicked out of the tournament. The only thing I remember from this tournament so far is us slapping the corrupt Qatar cunts and empty seats in the stands. Almost every single game from every WC from 1974 to 2018 is on FIFA.com. Age as an excuse for ignorance of the game is bullshit. An entire era existed when the national game was superior to the club game. Either provide a proper retort or don't bother replying.

I thought 98, 2018 were very enjoyable

Hated 2002,games at like 8am and shit.

2010 was Spain passing their opponents and thr audiences it to a coma.

So far, this world Cup has been middle FF tee Road. Enjoying the upsets and of course VAR is interfering a lot more.

Group stage games will always be hit and miss, some teams might burst on to the scene and slowly fade ala KSA and others might take time to feel their way ala Brazil. This can and often takes the sting out of many encounters.
