Thought this was about Klopp for a second and got very confused.
By inky Go To PostWe are fucked. Player production has dried up, corruption is at an all time high, the cement cartels and tv conglomerates run the FA for their own interests in the local league, and hosting theGame’s gone innit. I dont follow La Liga MX much but this is the first WC where I wasn’t excited about watching the team. There really is no identity, drive or philosophy that seems present in the team. Seems like the whole NT has been drifting since Chile put 7 past us.world cupgroup stages next time around is too short for a turnaround.
This is rock bottom for the Mexican NT but it has been a long time coming.
By n8 dogg Go To PostCristiano is for sure a top ten player of all time. Very likely top 5. I don’t think he ever captured the imagination the likes of Pele, Maradona, Messi did though.i think even on his pure goalscoring days it was fascinating to watch him carry Real to winning everything, always was there at the right time to score no matter vs. who
By Plasma Go To PostThink we're getting the Danilo guy from Palmeiras, ESR and Elneny are like new signings too
Him and a central midfielder and that'd be a great January transfer window.
By Plasma Go To PostAt least Arsenal are still at the top.

Whenever some fool tells me the WC is the best tournament on Earth, I'll simply ask how can that be if 30+ year old Bryan Oviedo and Joel Campbell are starting in it?

Agreed. It's my tradition as well. It's almost as if having a World Cup midseason instead of the summer when most players have rested for one month wasn't a good idea 🤔
By bone Go To PostAgreed. It's my tradition as well. It's almost as if having a World Cup midseason instead of the summer when most players have rested for one month wasn't a good idea 🤔Yeah tired slow football, lots of time wasting, stop & go football with the refs not letting play go, barely any matches have energy/urgency, 20 minutes added time, stadiums look half empty etc.
I don't even know what the best games have been as I can't really pick, it's more like picking the least worst. USA games have been kinda fun. Portugal - Ghana too. But in general it's either been 0-0 or 9-0 it feels like.
The football is rarely of any quality. The first support is more often than not shit outside of the hosting country (and even that is shit this time). You have to endure a bunch of cunt players you can't stand, on 'your own' team.
On top we get a bunch of mouth breathers watching all of a sudden. Both ones with nationalistic tendencies, but also people who knows nothing about the sport, yet will happily act like experts
The one usual redeeming quality, is seeing players you know little about being bangers out of nowhere. Something nice about seeing Ochoa or Japanese lads fucking a good team. Or just seeing old personal favorites like Atiba in my case, at age 72, still play football.
But fuck me, could do without that, if it meant no international football.

The thing that surprises me the most is that the players haven't protested. But I hope they do next time FIFA tries to pull this kind of shit.
obviously they won't when they get bags of money
By bone Go To PostWorld Cups before Bosman were magical. National teams were better than clubs, only 24 teams got in.Next world cup has 48 teams right bone m8?
16 groups of 3, top 2 in each group go through.
Sounds incredibly competitive and entertaining
My only anticipation for it is being able to attend a game here in Miami with my elderly father, hopefully. Should've been 5 months ago but corrupt Qatar and FIFA cunts gonna corrupt.
A lot of histrionics and gatekeeping in these posts.
International football has never been a vortex of action. They're almost always played in the heat of the summer.
The group stages have always been slow going.

By Daz Go To PostThe group stages have always been slow going.
And yet the record for goalless draws at a world cup is 7. We already had 5 in these opening group stage matches. Been pretty shit even compared to other world cups so far.
And even then, none of my favorite football memories are related to a world cup or euros, maybe except Zidane headbutting. Which says a lot.
