By blackace Go To PostNahhh we got 8 foot players now?
By reilo Go To Post*snip*this is great lol
By Kibner Go To PostI don't think there is ever going to be a league filled with 7 footers like that because:
1) there just aren't enough people in the world that are 7 feet and skilled enough to play in the nba
2) having a roster with that many 7 foot players is going to have half the roster perpetually injured because human bodies generally can't stand high impact sports above like 6'8 or so
Designer babies with genetic editing gonna change the game.

This is so dumb. Local broadcast guys say all kinds of wild shit daily and it's ignored. But since the Knicks drive media engagement we have this "beef" to deal with...
Honestly for a quote coming from a Black man who has lived here for 23 years I expected worse
By You got 14 bricks right there? Go To PostMove that team to Seatle, Utah doesn't deserve one. That's the city that has those proud boy rallys, right? (that might be Portland I honestly can't remember)

By DY_nasty Go To PostSame problem set lolAt least those groups are visible. The casual and ingrained racism is the most frustrating. People don't even realize how deeply seeded the racism is in society and then they act shocked when a person of color feels uncomfortable. I lead an ERG at work (neurodiversity) and work closely with the People of Color, Queer, and Women ERGs and the stuff that constantly bubbles up is disheartening. People be ignorant, yo.
Don't know why some new group is the barometer of racism but this ain't my ride

No, I get it. It's just that these articles come up and everyone is acting like it's either overblown or that someone just had a very uniquely negative experience.
But for real, this isn't just a Utah issue. We have it worse, yeah, but this stuff is everywhere.

Is it like what is touched on in this part of the article?
Now, as a 28-year-old Millcreek resident who works as a community marketing manager for concert promoter/venue owner S&S Presents, most of the bigotry she encounters is implicit rather than malicious — well-meaning people going overboard with what she terms “Get Out” racism, after the Jordan Peele movie: “Where it’s overcorrecting … the opposite of mean racism to the point that you’re being so weird and nice about it but you’re still singling me out as not being white.”
Honestly of the different varieties of racism the ”Ive seen/spoken to 3 black people in my life so I might say something stupid” kind is the one that bothers me the least. Much much much rather live in SLC than Milwaukee for example...
By Kibner Go To PostHonestly trying to figure out what is being alluded to here. Is it like what is touched on in this part of the article?I'll let Dy speak for himself on that.
What I was saying is that the issue we have in Utah, and it's reinforced by that article quote you pulled, is that we think we're doing a better job dealing with race issues because you don't see the racism. I also think people want to point to the overtly racist stuff happening elsewhere (the rallies with hoods, confederate flags, etc.) to excuse our "polite racism" and not have to face it. It's oppressive stuff. It might not be violent or life threatening, but damn if we don't know how to make sure people of color know their place in the most passive ways possible.
I do think the majority of people in Utah want to be good about this stuff, but we're unwilling to have the conversations on how to be better. The upcoming generation is MUCH better about things though, which I think we're seeing in lots of other places too.
Sorry, I'm talking too much.
Mavericks fans have to be amplified by Luka flailing constantly and they react. Surprised they're not higher.
How are the Jazz so low? We have the biggest persecution complex in the league due to Bavetta PTSD.

By diehard Go To Postblazers 100% passed the knicks and im happy the stats reflect that
TBF it's definitely Warriors fans complaining that the refs like them too much

I have a self imposed rule to only complain about the refs involving the Jazz to 4 times per year but i can complain about them in other games as much as I want.
I reserve the bulk of my complaining to point out the bullshit Luka, CP3, and Harden do. It's really focusing on the worst of the NBA's ills.
By reilo Go To PostWarriors, hilarious. They haven't been called for a moving screen in almost a decade.
Maybe check the FT disparity for the Warriors this season
